Copper wire replacement

I have been getting numerous calls on my business line stating that I need to make an appointment so a technician can come out and change my copper wiring. Does anyone know if these calls are legitimate or scams? They call every few days and leave the same number 866-709-0010. Thanks!

If you aren't having any issues with whatever your copper wiring is servicing then it's probably a scam. Just delete and don't respond. Call AT&T directly for your business line and ask them.

My state agency got a call from that number saying we had to schedule a "mandatory" copper replacement with a VoIP solution. I repeated to him "This is mandatory? We don't have a choice?" and Mr. Patel confirmed that it was mandatory.  About a half-hour later I got a call from his "supervisor" asking if our account was a government account. I confirmed that it was and she tells me that government accounts weren't eligible for their "promotion". I explained that Mr. Patel told me it was mandatory and Mrs. Smith apologized for the confusion. She said Mr. Patel would be disciplined....riiiiiight.

This is a scam.

I work in a law office and we get these calls all of the time. I told them we weren't interested and the woman told me they were changing policies and it would soon be mandatory. I confirmed she said mandatory, and she said correct. I then asked her WHEN it would be mandatory since she said it wasn't yet but would be soon. She said there was not a date in place yet. I then asked how she could tell me it was going to be mandatory, but then not have a date on which it would be required. She couldn't answer that and then kept repeating herself. I told her I didn't want her calls anymore until the date came for it to be mandatory. She said, "ok I can remove you from our call list then." I then asked how I would know when the time came for it to be required and she couldn't answer. I told her to not call the office again. I STILL get these calls. I work in a law office, and my employer has called AT&T directly and they stated nobody in their company has called us directly. It was very confusing for a while because AT&T really had been calling us around this time for a different issue. Hope this helps

Thanks for your insight on this. Since this topic is a year old I'm closing to further posting.
