Billing for closed account

My wireline monthly service - Dec 4 thru Jan 3 was paid 12/23 and posted 12/24. I Cancelled service 12/28/21 with Ashley at Atlanta office and told no further charges. I keep getting billed. I have spent hours on hold waiting for assisance and talking, begging, Eakaila, then Jessa, then Joanna, and finally Dario DC4073, to stop the billing and each time was told no more bills. I have a msg from ATT on my cell phone Tue., Dec 28 Service cancelled 12:36 PM.  I have been billed for 2 more months of nonexistant service. How do I get these charges removed and the billing stopped.

You went into an office to cancel service? Either you got a fake message as it wasn't through the cancellation department, or the account was reactivated. That is assuming the bills are for the monthly service and not any final charges to clear the account.

To be sure, when you call and get the voice prompt say "cancel" which should route you correctly. They are the ones to verify if cancellation was done correctly (if at all) or if something else is going on.

Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. - 9 p.m. CT
Saturday - Sunday, 8 a.m. - 9 p.m. CT
If you still have issues after that, then a BBB complaint may be needed. That would go to the corporate level.

I am also dealing with the same issue. Account closed in July, received confirmation email and have returned all equipment. Yet there is still new bills every month?
