AT&T Wont Let Me Cancel our Landline Phone and Hung up on Me!

This is ridiculous. I have called 5 times to cancel our service with AT&T and they have HUNG UP on every occasion, except when I had to call to make a late payment because my request to cancel was never put into place. This could affect my credit and I do not wish this to happen and as the consumer I have a right to cancel at any time as my subscription is month to month. I have also tried to access the online account by calling and changing my email address to which they assured me was done and sent an email. THIS WAS NEVER DONE. I never received an email. This is horrible customer service and without a storefront or accessible phone service, I am at their mercy. I do not want to sign up for cell or internet service, I just wish to get rid of my outdated landline. Thank you. I ask that someone please contacts me and fixes my issue, so I do not have to keep calling and being hung up on.

Please send us the following information.

  • Your name(First and Last)
  • A good contact number
  • The telephone number that you are requesting to be canceled
  • The 3 digit customer code

When we get that information we can get you in contact with the correct team that will get the landline service canceled.

This is exactly what we are going through. We’ve been calling to cancel since March and these people keeps saying they will call back and nothing. I lost count of how many times we have been calling. It’s RIDICULOUS we are moving so many years with ATT and this people are acting like scammers.

I talked to a lady in April 3rd attempt to cancel. She apologized and said we will get a credit. The line was never canceled and we have called 3 times more after and all they keep saying is give us your information home address, customer code etc…. It’s May and no one until these date has been able to cancel my landline and the bill keeps running. It is frustrating, disappointing and stressful!!!!

If you are wanting to cancel, the best way to get that done is to call our customer service line at 1(800)288-2020 and then request to be transferred over to our loyalty team. From there, you'll be able to speak with a representative that will be able to assist you with this request.
