Thunderbird and Outlook quit downloading emails.

Four days ago I was using Thunderbird to clean my emails. My email address is [email scrubbed].  I deleted approximately 4,000 emails. Since then, neither Thunderbird nor Outlook will download new/subsequent emails. However, my Samsung phone will download, and continues to download, all emails. A recurring error message that Thunderbird gives me is: The DELE command did not succeed. Error marking a message as deleted. Mail server inbound.att.net responded: Too many requests.

I've gone to www.att.com and logged into my email account. It has approximately 20,000 emails in it.

Does anybody have any idea as to what is going on and how to resolve it? Thanks.

We're here to help with your email clients not downloading emails, @Lamrouex077!

The first thing we recommend doing is changing your email server settings. If you are using POP mail, try using the IMAP setting to see if this alleviates your issue.

You can reference the table below to find the settings:

Email protocol Inbound server Inbound port SSL Outbound server Outbound port
POP3 inbound.att.net 995 Yes outbound.att.net 465
IMAP imap.mail.att.net 993 Yes smtp.mail.att.net

465 or 587

Let us know if this helps! If not, we can try some additional troubleshooting.
