Save old contacts from sbcglobal.net

I have to close my current sbcglobal email account. I would like to switch)?) to att.net without out loosing contacts or old emails. How do I do this?

We can advise you on how to access your contacts and emails with your new AT&T email address, Nanhughed.

You can import your contact list after creating your new AT&T email account. Keep in mind that the contacts will have to be transferred from a 3rd party mail client, such as Outlook or Yahoo! Mail.

Follow these steps from our guide on creating and managing AT&T Mail contacts:

From AT&T Mail

  1. Select Contacts Contacts icon.
  2. Choose More (three dot icon).
  3. Select Import, then choose Import again next to the email provider you want to get contacts from.
  4. Follow the prompts.

When it comes to the Sbcglobal emails that you want to keep, you need to forward them to the new address before closing it. We have a guide on how to delete an email account, if you need it.

We hope that answered your question. If you need help with anything else, just let us know.

You don't need a third party email client.  There's an Export option in the Contacts 3 dot menu where you can create a file and then use the Import option in the new account.
