Outlook 2021 doesn't download email for days
My in-laws have att.net email addresses. I had to set up new PCs for them, and installed MS Office 2021 Pro (not the Office 365 version). When I added their att.net email addresses, Outlook automatically set them up for IMAP, and it worked fine. After a while, all of their folders were populated and they were getting and sending emails just fine.
However, a few days later, both of them tell me that they're no longer receiving new emails. We log into their ATT web mail, and there's plenty of new emails in their in-boxes that are not showing up in Outlook. Outlook shows no errors. It just doesn't have new emails. I restarted Outlook and it started working again, but then stopped working a few days later. Left to themselves, without restarting Outlook, it works some days and not others, for days at a time.
These two are not computer experts and would not be messing with their email settings. I don't understand how something that was working can stop working and then resume working on its own, with no errors displayed.

The only step I hadn't done was to check the account settings, which I adjusted as follows:
I then sent a test message back to her account. She has a lot of folders, all of which I had synched when I set this up. All of the local folders were empty again and it is now re-synching everything.
The original settings (which were configured automatically) were using Yahoo mail servers. I changed these manually to the settings above. Do these look correct to you? If so, then I'll ask her to tell me if the problems have ended. Otherwise, please tell me what I need to adjust.

I asked you to confirm that the settings I showed you were correct because your instructions on your official website are for Outlook 2016, but I have Outlook 2021. So, please look at the settings I showed you and let me know if they are correct.

Thanks very much for confirming. It appears to be working smoothly now. We'll see if they remain that way.

I didn't notice this when I first sent you the screen shots, but the incoming and outgoing email servers have been changed from imap.mail.att.net and smtp.mail.att.net to imap.mail.yahoo.com and smtp.mail.yahoo.com. Redoing it gets the same thing. Is this your servers issuing a correction to Outlook or is Outlook thinking it knows better than you? When you validated my settings in the earlier screenshots, you said they were right. Does that mean that using the yahoo domain for the mail servers is at least as good as using the att domain?
Thanks,
Adam
