Yahoo Mail Keeps Logging Me Out!!!

After reading my emails for about 10 minutes, I can't open any more emails. When I refresh the page, I keep getting logged out and have to log in again to continue reading my emails.

This is so frustrating...I have tried "keep signed in" and that doesn't even work. It might be because I log in from multiple devices. However, that should not matter. I have done this for YEARS and have never run into this. The only reason I have remained with ATT is because I want to keep my email account. I think it may be time to save what emails I need and go with another internet provider. It's obvious that this is not a high priority for them.

Since I checked the "Keep Me Signed In" box, I haven't had any issues so far. Let's see how long this will last!!!

I started a different post that is very similar to this one. Farfala is exactly right. This is an AT&T/Yahoo issue that should be resolved. And in the past I could have multiple sessions of my email open not only on 1 computer at the same time but also multiple sessions of my email open on different computers at the same time as I have 4 computers scattered around my house that I use on a regular basis. I'm an original "@prodigy.net" email member & have been doing this for many years. AT&T/Yahoo changed their software recently to cause these issues...

@Mike1000   agree... I've been trying to get mine working and have done their syncing and that does nothing... I don't use the att mail app on my phone because 99.9% of the time, I don't do email on my phone... I only use it on one computer..... Right now, I'm logged in and not having an issue.. I worry about when they bump me off and I have to resign in again..  that's when I have the issue... It's crazy... since One time trying to log in and it tells you that you attempted too many logins... How is one log in too many time.   I had an issue with my bank where it did that too me.. I tried to log in once and it said I tried too many times..  In 5 minutes they had the problem fixed and I've not had the issue again...  I hate when it logs me out right in the middle of me typing a very long email to someone..... and it's lost...

I really wish they would fix the problem... I'm using the sbcglobal.net email and have

for years since I was under southwestern bell.... ALL my bills are sent to this email and many other sites I use communicate to me with this email... It would take me a long time to make changes and I'd be afraid of missing something I really need... I could change to Gmail, but I like my email here and I'm comfortable with it...

I think they need to get a better programmer involved in fixing it...

I JUST got logged out of my email and had to log back in...  ONCE AGAIN.. SAME PROBLEM...  put in my user id:  and then my password and it came back and told

me I attempted to log in many times... NO!  I ONLY LOGGED IN ONCE!!!

So now I go through the chore of setting myself back up ...  this is INSANE!!!!

I wish they would hire a decent programmer to fix this problem once and for all.. this has been going on for WAY too long...  It's frustrating...

@Papa2323   sbcglobal.net is the email I'm dealing with the problem.. have been dealing with it for several months..  they haven't fixed it... it constantly happens.. I was logged in for 2 weeks, then it logged me off and then trying to log back in.. I'm forced to go thru the steps of resetting my password so I can get in..

@Mamacat104 Geez…. There was a major problem two months ago about the sign on loop but from the comments it appeared they fixed the problem. I haven’t had any problems since then. New passwords and clearing cookies and such doesn’t do a thing with my issue. This same loop problem began again this morning.

Same here and I am sbcglobal.net. It's been happening off and on for a few months. I was having to re-set my password every day, if not more than once a day because it kept knocking me out, then saying my login was not correct and not giving me more than 1 try to login. I use the same password by the way every time it forces me to reset my password.  I can login to my email on my cell phone with no issues. However, every time I have to reset my email on my laptop, it makes me re-enter my password on my cell when I access it there. Same password. This is very frustrating and would prefer not to have to go to another email provider. Please fix your system for Yahoo!! It's past the point of being ridiculous!

@Papa2323   I had it happen months ago and I thought it was cleared up.. but then it started again and got worse... at the moment, looks like it is going to do it every time they log me out and I have to relog in again...

@ATTHelp I too am having the same issue after using sbcglobal.net for 10 years now. I followed your suggestion to use "Currently" to sign in and this is what happens when i click that link: I get the dreaded "404" error:

"The page could not be found or you don't have permission to view it.The resource that you are attempting to access does not exist or you don't have the necessary permissions to view it.

Make sure the address is correct and that the page hasn't moved.

Please contact your administrator if you think this is a mistake."

I guess ATT mail has been taken over by aliens since ATT hasn't a clue how to fix this major issue.

Update: I l left the house today at 3:30pm, came back just now about 9:45pm & I'm still signed in on the same computer. Haven't checked the other computers but I will put them thru the test.

Only difference I made was as follows... I don't like giving my cell number out so at some point, months ago, Yahoo started asking me for 2-step verification. I would sign-in, Yahoo would say answer these 2 security questions & add your mobile number. Since I didn't want to do that I could just hit "back" & it would take me to either the AT&T home page or directly to my email inbox.

Thinking this could have something to do with me always getting "logged-out" I responded today to those 2 security questions & my cell number. Now I'm not getting logged out.

As I mentioned I will test over the next few days to see if I can have multiple email sessions going  on on the same computer without issues & I will also check to see if I can have multiple emails sessions going on on separate computers but still going thru the same router. I'll post my results later but at least I'm not getting signed off of Yahoo/Prodigy email in less than an hour on 1 computer.

Anybody else seeing similar results???

For years, I have been able to be signed into yahoo mail (sbcglobal.net) from my laptop and my cellphone, sometimes having it open in more than one window on my laptop, for hours and days at a time with no problem. But now, as others have noted, even having it open in only one window, on one device, I am still getting logged out after a very short amount of time, perhaps 15 minutes, sometimes as long as an hour.

awerlin, I agree as I could do the same thing. Obviously AT&T/Yahoo changed the software up. I'm wondering if it's got something to do with their security plans & maybe they made a decision that there should never be multiple sessions of email open for a single email address/user. Did you enable the 2-step verification? I'll be testing this over the next couple of days to see if enabling the 2-step verification makes it go back to the way it use to be...

I am having the same issue as everyone else.  Only posting because hopefully AT&T will realize it's an issue with a lot of people, not just a few, and do something to fix it.  My issues -

1. I used to be able to keep my email page open all day on my computer and just flip over occasionally to check for new messages.  It would update on it's own periodically without me ever having to refresh the page or log back in.

2.  Now it will not refresh automatically and when I reload the page it logs me out.

3. I am not logged in on another device.

4.  I have ensured that my internet browser is up to date.

5.  A few months ago it also asked me to change my password because I had attempted to log in too many times, which was not the case.  I have had to change my password twice in the last two months, and before I had the same password for 15 years and it was never an issue.

I am seriously considering changing to another email provider because this is getting ridiculous.  I don't have time to log in every 10 minutes.
