Yahoo Mail Keeps Logging Me Out!!!

After reading my emails for about 10 minutes, I can't open any more emails. When I refresh the page, I keep getting logged out and have to log in again to continue reading my emails.

Wesley, you continue to falsely claim that this problem lies with us, our browser settings, our cookie clearing, the "Keep me signed in" issue. It's none of those. This is an AT&T technical issue that is entirely the fault of AT&T's email server problems. This is a widespread issue, yet AT&T wants to pretend it's due to user failure. Just for the record, I've done every single thing you recommend in your post, and the problem is just as bad as ever. The fact that AT&T hasn't long ago fixed this is testimony to how unconcerned its technical engineers about this very pressing malfunction. As my earlier post states, it's why I have a Protonmail account where both consistency and privacy are paramount. Just fix the Yahoo mess and we'll all stop complaining.

@TechKnow - Here here! Been saying this to them since beginning of June and they still say the same things to everyone posting on these issues! Maybe they're robotic! They don't seem to read anyone else's complaints that whatever they're telling them to do doesn't fix anything.

@Farfala I spoke with AT&T tech support a few days ago and could tell right away they had no idea how to fix this (at their level). But, the rep admitted that this is a failure of the mail server, not the settings on our PCs. AT&T engineers could have fixed this in a day if they'd just decide to do it. I'm just cynical enough to believe this is an attempt to make Yahoo! mail so annoying that we migrate to its paid version. As you probably know, AT&T is routinely voted one of the worst (if not the worst) tech company and cell phone company. Its customer service is horrible and mostly is nothing more than someone repeating that he/she is "sorry for the inconvenience" followed by empty promises to fix the problem.

@TechKnow    That is the same thing I was thinking they are trying to do.. make us pay for our email on top of paying for our internet.. An added expense to hit customers with.  We pay for internet, I think it should come with email...  My guess it is coming from Yahoo... since they run the email for AT&T.  I have a yahoo email I use for minor things and yahoo is constantly sending me emails wanting me to upgrade to the one you pay for ..

Mamacat104 and TechKnow, both of you are so on point!!!! I would put it past AT&T to attempt to force us to move to the paid email service, WHICH I WILL NOT DO!!!! If this problem persists, I'll just kick Yahoo Mail to the curb and change all of my contacts to Gmail! This is getting RIDICULOUS AND IS INEXCUSEABLE!!!!!!

This is absolutely ridiculous. It works fine on my phone but not on my computers.

We're happy to help with your email, @rgaines.

We have a post on what other users did about too many log in attempts. We suggest taking a look at @tonydi response.

Our engineers have been notified about this and are working to get this resolved soon.

Feel free to reach back out with any other questions or concerns and thank you for contacting the AT&T Community Forums Team.

The only thing that has allowed me to stay logged in is to totally change my password. AT&T probably programmed its email to log us out unless we change our passwords on AT&T's schedule, not ours. With zero notice to any of us about this, AT&T plods on unconcerned with customer care. Typical AT&T.

@TechKnow  I'm sorry that you went to the trouble of changing your password. I don't know if that's going "fix" the problem at hand, but I do know from my own experience and some others on this forum, that when you first login, check the box that asks "Keep me Logged In", and this may temporarily work. It has been working for me so far, however there were still a few times that I was getting logged off initially. For now it is working if I check that box. These issues will not be permanently fixed until AT&T/Yahoo decide to take responsibility and fix their system.

Changing my password had no effect for me. I'll try checking the "Keep mt Logged In" box to see if that works. Thank you!

I checked the "keep me Logged In" box and so far I'm not having any issues with Yahoo Mail.

@Bottomzone  That's great, but don't be discouraged if the problem occurs again even after you've checked off the box because it did happen to me before - but as I also said, since then I haven't experienced email issues recently. Just keep checking the "Keep me signed in" box each time you log in to your email and hopefully you'll be okay.

@Bottomzone   I agree with Farfala..  I sign in all the time with "keep me signed in" checked.. but after a while, AT&T logs you off and you can be in the middle of typing out a long email and it will bump you off and then when I try to sign back in it says I tried too many times and I'm locked out.. have to click "Forgot Password" (which I did not)..  then I type my password back in and I am in till the next time it bumps me out and I go through it all again.  I've done their syncing and that does nothing.... right now am in my email and it's working.. Not sure how long I've been in now ...It probably won't be long and it will bump me out again... I think it's around every 2 weeks it bumps you out... and then you have to try and log back in..   Good luck ...

Thank you Mamacat and Farfala. So far, checking the "Keep me Logged In" box is preventing the problem from reoccurring but I won't be surprised if things go haywire again!
