Yahoo Mail Keeps Logging Me Out!!!

After reading my emails for about 10 minutes, I can't open any more emails. When I refresh the page, I keep getting logged out and have to log in again to continue reading my emails.

Hey there @Bottomzone! We'd love to help you stay logged in to your Yahoo Mail. 

 

In order to best help, we may need to ask a few more questions:

  1. What domain is your email address under? For example, is it a bellsouth.net or sbcglobal.net email? Some of the domains under the AT&T network operate a bit differently from one another, and this will help us determine what's going on.
  2. When you get logged out, are you seeing any errors or notifications? If you are getting a 'timeout' notification, a few things may be happening.
    • There are multiple instances of your account open. Please double check that your email is not open in a different or the same browser.
    • A third party is attempting to access your email. You may want to reset your password to ensure your account's continued safety.
    • You have experienced a temporary internet disruption long enough to disconnect you from the mail server, and you were blocked after too many attempts to auto reconnect. 
  3. Are you able to log in to Currently? This is the website that we are able to support the most. Being able to log is an important identifier in how we diagnose what is going on.

Please let us know, and we can take a deeper look.

 

In the meantime, we would like to recommend a few troubleshooting steps to see if we can't resolve this with the information we do have.

  • Please clear the cache and cookies in your browser. 
  • Check to make sure that your browser is operating on the most recent update. We recommend using Firefox or Chrome when accessing your emails.
  • Reset your password to resync your account, or if you are using a 3rd party mail client, reset your secure mail key as well.
  • You can also check out our official forums post on email troubleshooting for a variety of helpful suggestions.

My email address ends in sbcglobal.net. 

What happens is after about 10 minutes, when I am trying to open an email, there is a message "Cannot open email. Please retry." The email will still not open after retrying. None of them will. The only way that I can open any more emails is to refresh the page which logs me out. I then have to log in again to open more emails. Also, when my emails won't open and I delete emails that did open, I get a message that the email cannot be deleted even though it is deleted. I've cleared cookie and my browsers are the latest version. Nothing is working!!!

Let's figure out why your email keeps logging you out, @Bottomzone

 

Were you able to try the password reset option that Wesley provided? This can re-sync your email and generally help with most login issues.

 

If that doesn't help, we'll need to try manually syncing your email account.

Just to let you know, myself and a slew of others have been experiencing these same issues since the very beginning of June. After going back and forth with "AT&T Help" and problems still persisting with everyone because the "help/support" they're offering is no help. The problem is an internal issue that has to be resolved within the AT&T/Yahoo system, not your computer. I thought my issues had resolved as of last week - a whole week without having to login repeatedly, etc. But then this past Sunday it started up again. Yesterday, no issues. This morning, I am not able to open my emails at all, no matter how many times I try to login and refresh. These guys don't seem to know what they're doing. So frustrating, and the Tech help is useless - sorry guys, but been through this several years ago and the only way this can be resolved is for AT&T/Yahoo to fix their system. You don't need to do anything with your computer because that is NOT the problem. And so....we wait and wait. Hopefully someone at AT&T/Yahoo will realize this and do something about it.

I can't open my emails this morning either.  They will open on my phone, but not on my computer (using any browser).  I hope they figure it out and fix it quickly!

@Bottomzone,  I am having the same issue with email.. I also am using sbcglobal.net  email...  It took me 20 minutes to even get back into the email and then when I tried to send an email to someone, it said I couldn't.. It wouldn't let me delete any junk mail.. I finally went to my gmail and sent my email and came back to my  sbcglobal.net email and was able to send a short email..   I wish they would fix this problem.. I've had it happen over and over and it's frustrating ..  especially since I get all my bills into this email...  it will take me a while to get my email for my bills switched over and I need this sbcglobal.net email to work...   

    I've seen  where att.net emails are also not working and are getting signed off like this so to say it is the legacy emails as the problem, is not true...  

     Now am getting emails from AT&T to upgrade my email on my phone with their app.. I don't want to use my email on my phone..  I use it on the computer..  phone is too small and things I need to send with my emails are on the computer... so I do my emails on the computer.. I only use the phone when it's an emergency message to someone...

Mamacat104, please don't follow what AT&T Help is asking to to do - I'm sorry, but because I too, gave been experiencing these issues in the past and present with them, I can tell you (and from what I've seen others post as well) that their "help" is no help. I've told them myself in the chats that these issues are from within their internal system and nothing you try to change on your computer will make a difference. Don't know when their going to get this.

@Farfala   I agree.. I don't believe anything they are telling me anymore.. they have been no help...  They tried to tell me the account needed to be synced.. that did NOT help.. they supposedly synced me three times now and nothing has changed... I think they need someone in there with knowledge to fix this problem...  And it doesn't seem like anyone with experience is working on it... I've had my email for many years and I don't want to lose it..  I am frustrated when I can't email my friends or get the junk deleted from my inbox because the email isn't working right...  I don't like that they are trying to push me to download the AT&T app on the phone. I do not like using my email on the phone.. I always use my email on the computer.. it's much easier for me for several reasons... I use the mail function that is one the phone when I need to send something from my phone to the computer or need to send an emergency email because the net is down..  but 99.9% of the time, I use my computer to work in my email account ...    I wish they would get this problem solved ... I see there are a lot of people dealing with this mess

@AT&T Help,  your solutions do NOT help and your syncing does not help.. there is 

something in your system that is not working and you need to get a programmer in who knows what they are doing to fix it..  I have been having this issue over and over and have had my email account synced by your and that does NOT help... I could not send emails this morning and I could not delete any junk emails ...  took me over 20 minutes to get logged in..  this is frustrating when nothing is being done to fix the problem..  someone needs to raise the level of concern up your ladder to get this fixed... Please raise the flag of concern up the ladder and get someone with programming knowledge to get into the system to fix this problem...  I use my email to pay my bills and I receive all my bills through my email  (sbcglobal.net)  and I need it working.  I'm sure there are others with the same problem and must have a working email all times...

You are just like me - I always use my computer for emails, bill paying and printing the documents. I don't know what happened since I first posted this morning, but suddenly I am able to stay logged in, read my emails and delete those I don't need. Don't know how long this will last - it just seems that there is a major glitch in their system and they just can't get it together. It's like a "crap-shoot" or something: it works then it doesn't work.

@Farfala   I agree.  So far I'm in and working but no idea how long..  I was working fine yesterday and after I signed off the computer last night..  I had to send a quick email to someone, just a short note which I don't usually do, so I sent it from my phone.  Tried to sign into the email on the computer this morning and nothing was working and it took me 20 minutes to get in, but once I got in.. still wasn't allowing me to send anything.  That's when I ended up sending my emails on my gmail account which I have for my blog and for a friend who's email don't like my email and won't let her get my emails from sbcglobal.net
