Why does my SBC email only go back to 2017?

So I have an SBC global email that is still active. I use the premium version of curently/yahoo. When I look back however, I can only see emails starting from 10/23/2017 yet I have had the account for a long time before that and did not delete anything to my knowledge.

Why am I unable to see my emails before 2017? Nothing shows up in search for the terms I have either. Even that earliest email shows the convo chain from a discussion dating to a month before but the email itself is not visible. Where did they go and can I recover them? Its very important.

Hello @FrankKing, we understand the importance of getting your emails.

We suggest that you start by troubleshooting your mail client to refresh your email information. Follow these troubleshooting steps from our Login and Email Solutions article:

  • Clear Cache and Cookies - The most common fix

  • Update Your Browser - Many features are only compatible with the latest browser and we recommend updating it

  • Test signing in to your webmail using another browser

  • Disable browser tools or add-ons - This varies by device and browser

  • Disable your firewall - This varies by device and browser

To recover your missing emails, you can fill out our restore request form. Before you submit the form, please be aware of the following details:

  • We can only restore emails from the past 7 days.
  • You can’t cancel a restore request.
  • Restoration efforts aren’t always successful.
  • Recovered emails go into the same folders they were in on the restore date you pick. Check your trash folder if you can’t find them after the restoration.
  • You should back up any important emails received or sent in the past 7 days.

We'll be here if you still need help accessing your emails.

Demetria, I appreciate your reply.

If you look at my question, this has nothing to do with simply refreshing the cache or browser. The emails simply do not show up any further back than 2017. Would ATT have dropped them from the changeover with SBC or could there be some reason?

These are emails well over a decade old but that I know were never erased by me.

Thank you for verifying @FrankKing.

We are not able to remove emails, however, you will be able to restore them if the emails were in your inbox for the past 7 days. Please refer to our restore request form to submit your request to recover past the 7 days.

Please feel free to contact us back if you have any other questions.

Thank you for contacting AT&T. Have a wonderful day.

They are emails from BEFORE 2017. Its been a good while since I checked back that far but they were there at least some time before but no, it was not in the last 7 days.

I am trying to figure out why then it would simply not show any emails prior to that? I understand that ATT would not delete them necessarily but with the change from SBCgolbal/yahoo/Currently/AT&T, etc I am trying to figure out if they got lost somewhere and if so how would I get them back.
