Apple will tell an AT&T e-mail customer what his AT&T e-mail settings are because Apple will know better than AT&T? Gee, Aminah, that's disappointing. You actually have generic guides for setting up e-mail for Apple on your site, but not for the AT&T mail servers.
But it's not too surprising: AT&T doesn't cover the iPhone in its guides. Outlook, yep. Mac, yep. iOS, nope. So why should support know if the support guides don't have it.
Here's the article with the mail servers information on it. Combined with the generic Apple guides, it should get you set up:

I accessed my SBC email through my iPhone. I did not use an app.
Until a couple of days ago, I was still able to access my mail through the ‘My AT&T’ app. One of the options that specifically linked to Yahoo and email, there, still allowed access. However, that too, is no longer available.
Did the advent of Currently, render access to my SBC email via my iPhone obsolete?

I beg to differ. You used an app. My question would be was the app a web browser or a dedicated Mail app (like the one included with your iPhone). If a web browser, what site did you use (and why doesn't currently.com work for you)?

The Settings/Mail/Accounts option in my iPhone was how I always received my email…for years. This is not an app.

No, that is an app. It's an app integrated into the OS load, but an app nonetheless. But what is important here is that you were not using a browser / webmail interface.
The default mail client app in iOS should be oAuth compliant, so a Secure Mail Key shouldn't be necessary. I'd verify that you have the correct settings for the mail server and port (because AT&T changes them every few years).

Ok, so what are the correct settings, in order to continue using the default mail client app in iOS? Thank you.
Perhaps someone, or even an AT&T Community Specialist, will be able to provide these. Thanks again.

The Apple support team can provide the exact settings for you.
Let us know if you still have trouble accessing your email afterward.
