Secure mail key for att.net mail

Can you tell me whether att.net in regular webmail (brave or edge browser) would expect the secure mail key or would it expect the normal account password to log in? I tried to login with the normal password, and it kept erroring out, and finally locked me out. I use the secure mail key for Outlook on the PC and it works fine. The normal password worked a few weeks ago on webmail, but doesn't seem to accept it. What would it expect as a password now?

A browse client would use the regular account password, not the secure mail key. You could certainly try the secure mail key, though. Perhaps you just need to reset the password.

Thanks for the information. Is that the same when adding the account to an IOS device – e.g. an Iphone – when done through Settings>Mail>accounts etc. Would that look for the general password or the Secure Key?

We can assist you with accessing your email, joenew6.

Thanks so much for the helpful information, sandblaster.

You would use your secure mail key to access your email on your iPhone. To help you get back into your email, we'll send you a Direct Message. Look for the chat icon in the upper right corner of the page.

@joenew6 Actually, either regular password or secure mail key should work with the iOS email client. Any email client that is OAuth compliant, which the iOS email client is, will work with the regular password.
