@sbcglobal.net Email Account - How to Login without providing my phone number

Hello AT&T Community Forum, I'm looking for community-sourced advice, and/or a point to the correct AT&T Email Support respondent who can advise, how I can log into my Yahoo (@sbcglobal.net) email account, as I have been doing for nearly two decades, without providing my personal phone number. My phone number is my personal information, and I decline to share it with AT&T. It is none of their business. The Yahoo email login process with this phone number entry requirement is absurd- forcing longtime customers to provide a verified phone number in order to access their own email account...shame on AT&T for putting up this hurdle to access our own data and information. AT&T does this in the guise of acct security, but there was no written warning in advance for us that this change was rolling out, no ability to opt out, and not enough notice to allow us to move to a different email provider who doesn't breach personal data integrity and security protocols of its customer base. This doesn't have any semblance of trying to protect my email account, but rather feels more like forcing me out of my email account by way of bypassing my boundaries and rights. Question: Please advise how to login to Yahoo webmail without AT&T obtaining unauthorized access to my personal phone number? Thank you.

It's not obvious, but at that point you've already logged in.
So far, that form doesn't need YOUR telephone number, it just needs A number.  Use 512-555-5555, on the next page where it expects you to enter the code they sent, click on "Take me to my account" at the bottom of the page.

Yes.  That's stupid.

@lem3 oh you're the best. Outstanding, thank you for shining the light while I bumped into the walls. Tried to bully us with the verification step too-- bad people come up with ideas like that. Hey AT&T, we're going to need you to #bebetter.
