Received an email ostensibly from ATT...
I received an email that purports to be from AT&T from the following address this morning, Apr 27, 2023, is it legitimate?:
Here is the return address:
AT&T online <[email scrubbed]>
Here is the text of the message:
AT&T Mail
Dear Customer,
Important information:
Planned system maintenance and upgrades will be taking place today on the 27th of April 2023 and during this period, all AT&T users are advised to verify and upgrade their account.
Note: this method is available for 48 hours. Failure to do so can lead to temporary account suspension
We look forward to serving you better.

AT&T Customer Care.

Hi there, dawntreader56. We understand that you have received an email, and you are asking if it legitimate or not. We can help with that.
First and foremost, AT&T will never ask for you to upgrade your account, by providing a link to an email. We would normally request that you call us.
As well as there are some important features of that email that are missing. All automated emails that are sent from AT&T would include the following:
So with that information, no that email is not legitimate. Do not click on any links provided in that email. Either delete it or "mark it as spam".

Thanks for the feedback. Anytime I have any doubt whatsoever I never click on anything in the email - your advice is well taken by anyone that desires to keep malware off their computer!
