Random Emails are Not Readable

Hi,

I have a client utilizing a Bellsouth.net login with Windows 10 mail. Frequently emails appear to be in html format rather than English. Are there any recommended solutions?

Well I guess that answers the question I posed earlier today about whether Microsoft had fixed Windows Mail yet, so thanks for that!

This is an issue that popped up just after Microsoft pushed an update out to Mail in early June.  It also caused some to have errors when trying to connect and also to email syncing to not bring over all of the new mail.  The thread on their forums is HERE.

Speculation is that they may slow walk (or even ignore) any sort of fix since the new "One Outlook" app designed to replace Mail is expected to be released soon.

The solution is to switch to a different client.  Thunderbird has OAuth2 built into it (unlike Outlook) so you don't need any Secure Mail Key.

Hi Tony,

Thanks for your excellent recommendation. I implemented the Thunderbird mail client in a Windows 10 Pro environment with Gmail. The transition from Windows Mail to Thunderbird was seamless. Tomorrow my goal is to test Bellsouth.net with Thunderbird. I'll provide an update next week.

@Opa751LT   If you have some stumbles getting the bellsouth account working in TB, check out my post HERE.  Yahoo messed up something with the default servers (shocking, I know) and I found a workaround.  Maybe they fixed it by now, but if not, try the setup I show.
