Locked out of yahoo/att email

I have had my ATT email FOREVER and I am suddenly locked out.  My password doesn't work and the security questions are coming up as invalid.  I am SO screwed without that email.

Happy to help you get back into your email, abcampton.

Let's start with clearing your browser's cache and cookies to remove any stored password information. Close and relaunch your browser afterward.

Next, you'll need to reset your password using the Forgot password option. Choose the option to receive a temporary password.

Here are the steps:

  1. Go to att.com/myatt.
  2. Select Forgot password?
  3. Fill out the password info.
  4. Choose temporary password and follow the prompts. We’ll let you know where we sent it.
  5. Create your new password.

Once you're signed in, use our guide on Updating security questions and answers to make sure that information is accurate.

Let us know if this helped! If you're still unable to sign in, we'll see if we can reset the password on our end.

That hasn't worked this time or the last 20+ times I tried it. It has me enter the email address and my last name then it says...Hmmm we can't reset your password. We don't have the account details we need to reset your password right now. To get help call (800)288-2020.  When I call the number I get people that barely speak english and want nothing except to sell Direct TV. That is the greeting they use, (800)288-2020 is a sales line for Direct TV. You folks at AT&T have said "to (Edited per community guidelines) with sbcglobal.net" and hung us out to dry. I hope you lose enough customers over this to go bankrupt. I am having to use a newly made up email address to post this. It is NOT the one I'm having trouble with BECAUSE of AT&T

Same problem, and have to set up a made up email because you have to use an email you can get verified or be able to use a password for the account we can't access in the first place.  And for using a phone number to talk to someone, forget that.  I was on hold over 2 hours yesterday and currently have been on hold for 3+ hours and still no real person to help.

Hey AT&THelp, you aren't paying attention, I can't sign in, remember what this whole thing is about, my ability to sign in and my access to my email has been cut off ever since a message from AT&T said I had been using the same password too long, that was the first of the 7 times my password has been changed in the last 2 months, each time it has been changed within a few hours or maybe days I get error messages that the password I entered was wrong, then I carefully enter it again and then your automated (Edited per community guidelines) says that's 2 mistake and my account is locked, then the wasted time starts over calling your Direct TV hotline, (800)288-2020, and arguing with people that barely speak english trying to get them to escalate me to level 2 where I have to have the same argument trying to get them to escalate me to level 3 where the password can be changed AGAIN. Then in a matter of a few hours or, if I'm lucky, a few days the whole process will repeat itself. Do you see why I say AT&T has the WORST customer service of any company I have EVER had to deal with?

I guess I should have stated something else. The email address I'm using now is NOT the one AT&T is holding hostage. The email address I signed in with for this is an extra that was made up because your site won't let me post anything without signing in. If you want to see my opinions of AT&T using my sbcglobal.net email you'll have to go to facebook where I feel obligated to warn all of facebook about AT&T.

I am stuck in the same situation. There is not a temporary password link to try. And my security question answers are not working. Is there a fix for this???? I need access to my emails!!

crochetgirl012, AT&T isn't going to fix anything. They are big enough that the ones they hurt by disabling their email mean nothing to them. Do a search of companies owned by AT&T and boycott all of them.

Not sure if it helps or not, file a complaint to FCC https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=38824
