If you are locked out of your sbcglobal.net email, you can try the following steps to regain access:
Reset your password: Go to the sbcglobal.net login page and click on "Forgot Password." Follow the prompts to reset your password. You may need to answer some security questions or enter a verification code to complete the process.
Check your account status: If you have not accessed your sbcglobal.net email account in a while, it's possible that your account has been deactivated. Contact AT&T customer support to check your account status and reactivate your account if necessary.
Check your email settings: If you are having trouble accessing your sbcglobal.net email on a specific device or application, check your email settings to make sure they are correct. You can find instructions for setting up sbcglobal.net email on different devices and applications on the AT&T website.
Clear your browser cache: If you are having trouble accessing your sbcglobal.net email on a web browser, try clearing your browser cache and cookies. This can sometimes resolve login issues.
Greetings,
Peter

The FCC is the way to go. Att did nothing after numerous calls. We complained to FCC next day ATT called us and gave us a temp password. All set.

This has been two weeks now that I've been locked out of my sbcglobal.net email (since 4/17/2023). Have received no response to the form filled out. This is an absolute crisis as I have had this email address for decades and it is used for everything from bills to site verifications. AT&T needs to come forth with an explanation.

On some of the threads or forums i read a fraud mentioned, due to which a huge amount of emails were locked. As i understand AT&T would be probably facing thousands of (Edited per community guidelines) if they allowed that to happen and someone would gain access to all personal files. I dont understand though how come no one is setting up a recovery option inside the emails, while able to access them or security questions and answers, assuming nothing will ever happen. WIthout that info there is no way to restore emails and they are lost forever.
Back to the original issue, due to the enormous amount of emails locked i heard it was supposed to be 48-72 hrs but that was removed later from the website and some people got back after 2 weeks.
So far every thread and posts i read mentioned that none of the agents or supervisors had access so its either the form or FCC, BBB... it seems that they maight be able to somehow bypass the legal thing. Hopefully if they get enough requests, that will force AT&T to come up with something else

Wow.....didn't know this was a widespread problem among us sbcglobal email users. For the past 2 weeks, I have contacted their tech support, only to be told TODAY, like others, that without a recovery email (from when I first set up my sbcglobal account 25 YEARS AGO) there was nothing they could do.
Thank you @Kovak123 for the brilliant suggestion of filing a FCC complaint, which I did earlier today (amazing how fast a "solution": was found once you filed the complaint!). I also found about seven (7) email addresses for various AT&T bigwigs; I am in the process of drafting an email and including a link to this forum.
Lastly, I think we should all seriously contemplate filing a (Edited per community guidelines) (Edited per community guidelines) against AT&T for this breach, and the egregious and nonchalant way they are treating us.

I have been locked out of my att.net account for two weeks now. I'm filling the FCC complaint now. Thank you all for posting and sharing this information. This is the most egregious encounter I have ever had with AT&T and it's a shame that we have to go this route.

Hi All. Found this recent news article about a Bay Area man who was experiencing the same problem. He finally got a resolution after contacting his local news.

AT&T has locked thousands of sbcglobal.net customers out of their accounts and provided no means for them to access the accounts again. I have done all of the things recommended in this thread to no avail. Wife's subaccount locked with no warning on 4/17. After multiple calls to customer service, technical support, loyalty, Advanced Resolution Team, Digital Assistance Center, and Elite Care, and after submitting the online form to recover the account on April 20 (and being assured I would be contacted in 48-72 hours), I was later told that this is a widespread issue affecting at least 5,000 customers. Was also told last week that the 72 hours was now a minimum to be contacted.
I've been on the phone today with AT&T today for over 2 hours (currently on hold getting transferred back to loyalty after Digital Assistance Center told me they could do nothing to recover the account). FWIW I had a similar issue with this same account last year. Why can't ATT just link the subaccount to the main account for recovery? Why can no one access the account to revise the information?
This is completely unacceptable.
I pay AT&T over $500 a month for service.

AT&T, I am also a wireless customer. Can I get one of these magical temporary passwords sent to my cell? I need my emails. This has become an urgent matter now since I've had no emails since 4/17/2023.
