I officially hate ATT, too

I have an sbcglobal.net email address.  Apparently, there is an agreement between ATT (SBC) and Yahoo.  When you go to ATT.Net or Yahoo mail, you get redirected to ATT.  I was in an intergalactic loop for several days, unable to reset any passwords.  I would get Error Message Code 201 LU100, and error messages that my log in ID was incorrect.  I checked to be sure my log in ID was correct, which it was.  I did everything that was recommended on the ATT and Yahoo sites.  Cleared the cache, cleared history, changed browsers, and restarted machine.  Nothing worked.  This morning I called Yahoo Support and was willing to pay for their support services.  He said there are known issues with the interface between ATT and Yahoo email.  He told me to call the ATT Hot Line number.  I called that number, which was NO HOT LINE.  It was a general ATT phone number.  I finally received an agent, who said ATT can't help with sbcglobal email addresses.  What crap.  SBC is an ATT email address.  If you go back many years they were the same company.  The agent transferred me to another agent who "resynced" my email.  This worked on my PC.  I asked him about my cell phone and tablet but he said I had to call my cell phone provider.  The cell phone provider said they don't reset email passwords.  The agent did, however, walk me through the reset process for my Iphone and I got the error code 201 LU100.  I need some serious help here.  I got the same error message on my tablet.  This is why I cancelled my ATT cell phone service - you can never get help for your issues.   BUT I am stuck with ATT because I have this old sbcglobal email address.  I have had this address for over 20 years so it would be a nightmare to reset my password with all my bill pays, doctors, friends, etc.

Let's get you signed into your email, @rebeccakline2!

We regret that you've had this experience with us! Allow us to turn this around for you.

First, we recommend that you set up a secure mail key. A secure mail key is a 16-character secure key that will take the place of your currently email password.

While you do that can you let us know this information as well:

  • What email program are you using to access your email? Thunderbird, Apple mail, or Outlook? We ask this so we can move forward in the right direction with assisting you.
  • The loop you mentioned, are you still experiencing that on any device you have? If so, we a method we can try to resolve this for you..

We look forward to hearing from you! We have other things we can try if that doesn't work

100% agree Rebecca. How does one go about fixing this issue? I have the same exact problem and it is driving me nuts.

I'm moving this whole thread to the Email forum.

@lindar449   Now that you're in the right place take a look at the hundreds of posts on this subject there and you'll see the current workarounds (there is no fix at this time).
