I cannot acccess my email due to never making a user ID.

My email was unsynced from my account and now I cannot access it due to the only way I can by having a user ID and resetting the password and I never created a user ID or password. I've talked to customer service and they sent me a temporary password, but I do not have a valid user ID to use the password with. I've tried creating a user ID and it tells me that I need a verification code from my email, which I cannot access. I've tried resetting my password but it won't let me without a user ID. Please help me!!

We recommend creating a user ID, this may help with accessing your account. When you reach the verification page you should see an option for how you would like to receive the code. Please follow the steps below to create your user ID:

  1. Go to the myAT&T sign-in page and select Create one now.
  2. Enter your AT&T phone number or account number and your billing ZIP Code. You may also be asked to enter a verification code.
  3. If there’s already a user ID for the account, choose from the options listed.
  4. Enter your personal info to prove your identity.
  5. Choose how you want to receive your verification code, if asked.
  6. Enter the verification code we send you.
  7. Enter a new user ID and password. Be sure your ID is an email address that starts with a letter.
  8. Save your ID and your password to your device, if you choose.
  9. Enter the contact info for your user ID.
  10. Set up your security questions and answers.
  11. Accept the AT&T User ID Terms & Conditions.
  12. Choose whether you want to sign up for paperless billing for your accounts, if asked. If you go paperless, we’ll email you a link. Select it to verify your email address.
  13. Select Finish Activation, if you’re creating an ID in the middle of a device activation process

You can use one ID to manage multiple AT&T accounts and services. Find out how to add more accounts to your ID.
