Help! keep getting message "Looks like you’ve tried to sign in unsuccessfully too many times.

I get this message which is not true:

Looks like you’ve tried to sign in unsuccessfully too many times. Recover your ID or reset your password to continue.
Care Code: 205.2 [LU003]
I am at my wit's end.  I changed my password on my iPhone mac mail app and on my browser on my iPad and they work
and continue to work.
I went on my MacBook pro computer browser and put in the exact same email and password and got this message.
It was the first time I had signed in over two weeks and did so with the correct password.
I CANNOT keep changing my password every time I log in and now it won't even let me log in even though I had not
logged in in weeks.
What is going on with the ATT email??? Help, please.

Back out to the lists of posts in this forum and you'll see hundreds of people with the exact same issue.  There is no fix but if you read through some of those posts you'll see that doing the "Forget Password" dance is your only workaround.  Don't actually change the password, just keep putting your current one in so you don't have to go change it in the other devices.

I'm sorry but that is not a workable long term solution. When I do the "forget password" process it then makes my email on my phone think I've changed my password. So I go to log in on my phone and guess what? It says "too many unsuccessful attempts" and I then have to go through the forgot password process on my phone. Also, when I go to log in to my account to get my phone bill every month, the same thing happens. So I have to change it again. I'm about to switch everything to my Gmail account. AT&T is clearly not monitoring these forums.

I didn't say it was a long term solution or even workable, I said it was a workaround.  It's all there is for those who refuse to move on to another email provider.

But you've hit on the best long term solution, one I've been pushing people towards for months now.....move your stuff.  You're lucky you can get into your account to do the Gmail import, so many can no longer get into their accounts and will just have to move forward with nothing.

This is happening repeatedly to hundreds if not thousands of AT&T e-mail users. I have been fighting this for months and I get the same instructions and same explanations but no fix. Fix the problem AT&T!
