Hi there, @Bolanders. We understand that you need assistance with setting your recovery information on your email. We can help you with that.

You did follow the correct process however, there is a much simpler way of doing that. Follow these steps:

1. Go to AT&T.
2. Click on the downward arrow and then Sign In.
3. Enter in your full email address and password.
4. Click Sign In.
5. Click on the Profile Icon.
6. Scroll down to Sign In Info.
7. Over to the Right there is the word "Edit or Add" in the Recovery section.
8. Add the information there. Adding the phone number and recovery email address will take up to 30 days to come into effect. 
9. If need be you can also change your security questions. This will also take 30 days to come into effect.

If this email address is a subaccount, then the primary account will need to log in and go to Manage Sub-accounts section of the Sign In Info, at the bottom.

1. Go to your myAT&T Profile on a computer or tablet. Sign in, if asked.
2. Scroll to Email account and choose Manage email.
3. Select Manage subaccount.
4. Choose Edit next to the subaccount you want to change.
5. Update the info you want changed and select Save Changes.
