Email password reset

I'm being prompted to reset my bellsouth.net email account password after supposedly trying to "sign in unsuccessfully too many times." This doesn't make sense since the password is in my computer's keychain, which has not changed. The "care code" the message cites is CARE CODE: 205.2 [LU003]. The launch screen does not provide a place to reset my password – could I please either get an override for the initial password reset prompt, or get access to a password reset option? Thank you.

We can help you with your email password reset, YahooIssues.

 

We recommend that you reset your password using the Forgot password option on myAT&T. You'll want to wait 24 hours from your last sign in attempt, as the 205.2 [LU003] care code means that the email account is locked.

 

Here are the steps:

  1. Go to att.com/myatt.
  2. Select Forgot password?
  3. Fill out the password info.
  4. Choose security questions or temporary password and follow the prompts. If you choose a temporary password, we’ll let you know where we sent it.
  5. Create your new password.

I have done this.  And yet every day when I attempt to log in I get the exact same error as listed above.  I go in - reset the password, it is good for the rest of the day and usually within 24 - 48 hours, I get the message again and have to reset.  I have reset it to the same one and I have changed it - no difference.  I removed it from my saved passwords - no change.  I am prompted on a regular basis no matter what i do.

I don't think they are happy to help (as he says).  They aren't doing anything.  We shouldn't have to wait 24 hours to login to an account that has been erroneously locked.
