correct password not working for att.net email
I cannot sign in to my att.net email with the correct password that I have used for more than a year. the dialog box that comes up has the following text:
Looks like you’ve tried to sign in unsuccessfully too many times. Recover your ID or reset your password to continue.
CARE CODE: 205.2 [LU003]
I don't recall having tried and failed to log in in the recent past. I am receiving email just fine on my phone, and do not want to use the reset password because I fear that I will be shut out of mail on the phone if I cannot reset for the browser.
What might have happened? A system problem? Someone else trying to sign in on my account?
If I do use the password reset link, will it cause a problem with using email on my phone, or will I have to set up the email on the phone again?

@russncarrie There are several factors that can cause an email login failure.
This one is likely a server issue. Troubleshooting this particular error message usually requires a password reset.

thank you for the suggestion. Why would this be coming up when I have not tried to log in incorrectly? I am suspicious. As I said in my post, I do not want to reset the password because I am worried that there will be a problem with my phone which is still receiving emails using the old password.
Do you know why my password, which I have used for a long time, is not working? This is a recent problem, my email worked on the computer 36 hours ago.

This happens to me once per month. I’ve changed my password over and over again. If I go to a different app, email, etc it works. Ugh

Since the beginning of June 2022, I have had to change my email password about every other day. With 4 different accounts, this is making me rethink continuing with AT&T. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?
