CARE CODE: 205.2 [LU003]

I cannot log into my at&t account or email on my laptop.  I keep getting the error code CARE CODE: 205.2 [LU003] no matter what I do.  I am using chrome and have cleared my cash and cookies.  I am however able to see email on my cell phone.  Please help!

@Lollymiss  Restart your browser by closing it (click the "X" in the top right corner), Firefox in your case, and starting it again.

@dellray... So I just tried that, but now I keep being automatically signed in already! This is hysterical. Even when closing out, when I re-open the page, boom... I am already signed in. I have no idea how that's happening. Probably because I don't want it to for the very moment so I can try your suggestion.

In Firefox do this: Select "Tools > Options > Privacy & Security (on left side)". Scroll down to "Cookies and Site Data" and select "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" and restart Firefox and see if it logs you in.

I filed a complaint against AT&T with the FCC this morning for this error code issue (CARE CODE: 205.2 [LU003]). Its been happening for years and its a constant error that interferes with accessibility to important emails. It is unfathomable that AT&T experts are unable to remedy this error for their users, so I can only assume AT&T is running some kind of bait and switch or scam to drive users to either quit the AT&T platform or pay for use. If it isn't an AT&T issue, then it must be hackers/bots attempting log-ins without user knowledge and needs to be addressed by AT&T. I have changed my password seven times in the last month trying to access emails. Sometimes changing password works and sometimes it doesn't. Very frustrating. Here is the FCC site if you want to file a complaint. https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us

@NorCalD This is an awesome idea... never thought to do that... yesterday alone, I changed my password at least five times, today already two! It is RIDICULOUS!

@NorCalD Under which heading did you use to file the complaint? I see there is tv, internet, phone, but I don't see email as an option.

@NorCalD As far as changing your email, you don't have to do that, the old will still work - just copy and paste it back, changing it will not help anything.

@dellray and @NorCalD Yes, right.... I never actually change the password, but I do have to enter, re-enter, and then enter again on my phone each time I have to do this. It happened all day yesterday and I've only been on the computer 2 hours today and already kicked out twice and had to sign back in with the "forgot password" work around.

I am also continuously getting this most annoying problem.  I have reset my password many times on my computer and all my devices.  I clear my cache and history at the end of every browser session (which is also annoying).  I have tried 3 different browsers (Edge, Chrome and Firefox) and the problem persists in all browsers.  There needs to be a better solution than waiting 1-2 days or continuously resetting the password.  Please step up AT&T.

@dwbelsaas After you get logged in, logout and start your login again and select "Keep me signed in" and do not clear "yahoo.com" or "att.com" or "att.net" from your cache, this will stop the 205.2 error as long as you don't logout, but in the case of your phone, I don't know, I don't use one.

Reposting ...

I am also having this same annoying issue multiple times every week.  I have reset my password numerous times, on my computer and immediately on all my devices.  Everything seems to work, until 1-2 days later and it happens again.  I have tried 3 different browsers, same problem on all browsers.  I clear my history and cache after each browser session, still the problem persists.  Why did this just recently start happening?  I have not made any changes on my end.  There must be a better solution to this very annoying problem.  Please step-up AT&T!!

I have tried the "Keep me signed in" check-box ... the problem still comes back.

@dwbelsaas Did you logout and then log back in before selecting the "Keep me signed in" box? It will not work when you are changing your password.

@Lollymiss  Hi, to your question about where to file the FCC complaint for "email" issues, there wasn't one that I found, so I utilized https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/#/assistant

and followed the questions, by clicking on "Something Else" when prompted. From there I utilized the catch all complaint which included fraud and poor business practices...

My report No. is 149297390 and focuses on AT&T's lack of ability/desire/response in repairing the email error issue for its users.

I hope this additional information is helpful.
