CARE CODE: 205.2 [LU003]
I cannot log into my at&t account or email on my laptop. I keep getting the error code CARE CODE: 205.2 [LU003] no matter what I do. I am using chrome and have cleared my cash and cookies. I am however able to see email on my cell phone. Please help!

This error code issue with sbcglobal email is now happening nearly everyday. I have to chat, call at & t support or reset my password. It is maddening! They told me it’s a server problem & they are aware, but for 2.5 months it’s been repeatedly happening. I’ve done every single recommendation on this forum & nothing works long term. NOTHING!

This issue is complete (Edited per community guidelines) and AT&T, you know you have an issue. You have to by now, with so many people on this thread. I have the issue every time I go to login and the fact is, I have my password saved and just have to click login and it still gives me the error saying that I tried to enter my password incorrectly too many times. That is complete (Edited per community guidelines) and you know it. This needs to be fixed. The issue is on YOUR END! Not everyone else's. This is a complete nuisance, as one other commenter put. Every (Edited per community guidelines) time I want to login, I have to change my (Edited per community guidelines) password. Get this fixed NOW please!

It's an ongoing problem... no matter how many times I follow the steps, within 3-5 weeks I have to do it all over again!!

Frustrating that this continues to happen over and over. I even get locked out of my DirecTV account and online guide/streaming when it occurs. None of the advice here is a permanent solution.
Best tip I got here was to just reset password using the original. Still a pain but no new password to enter on every device I use.

tonydi : how about clutchgirl mentioned "FYI - I was told when I did finally get to speak to a person back when I initially posted here that it was ATT locking folks out as they were security checking accounts...."
--i thought it is possible because during BUSH wars it was a scandal that at&t monitored their clients, i knew couple years ago at&t quit(or reduced) but it seemed this time usa and europe union very strongly against Russia, looks like if Russia WIN then they would die so monitoring happens again?
certainly when i saw some declared to repeated change password solved their problem and some don't. increase monitoring rate.

tonydi : Wonder what sort of a system update takes 7 months?
--how about robot auto monitor "security checking accounts"
clients? i.e. robot issue scores by collecting clients opinions, the more not supporting current president or supporting another side such as Russia the higher score?
because i can also see the same bug happened to a cretain users in different years. that can be if the score reach certain level then trigger the bug.

OMG. This would be hilarious if it wasn't so frustrating. After getting locked out of webmail twice and getting back in- I am now locked out of email on my Galaxy phone which I had always been able to access. Aaargh
different Care Code: 201 {LU100}

While I am having the same problem with one ATT email account , the other 5 ATT email accounts work fine.
The one I am having a problem with has been identified as being exposed on the dark web recently and has in the past been involved with numerous data breeches over the years.
My concern is that a bot is really trying to log into the account numerous times until the account locks. I'm still looking into another solution, thus my interest into this thread.
Perhaps others in this thread have seen a pattern with their email being exposed.
Good luck to us all.
FYI: I only have problem with web mail.
POP and IMAP service works fine.
NOT A SOLUTION but a work around, get an email client like Thunderbird and use it.
Works for me, but I would like to see a proper solution.

@gary419 I've been suggesting that people use https://haveibeenpwned.com/ to check their email accounts to see if there's a correlation. So far, nobody seems to have followed up. My sbcglobal account has never been "pwned" and I'm not experiencing this issue.
Agreed that the "bad actors" that ATTHelp began mentioning a few weeks ago could be the issue. The scenario you put out is exactly what would happen in that case. What makes no sense is that this has been happening since late October. Now I realize that Yahoo/AT&T engineers are slow on the uptake, but how long does it take to see this sort of attack? And now that's it's been weeks, why haven't the simple mitigation procedures every big company employs when faced with this situation are still not in place?
The email clients work because they don't go through the same login procedure as the website. Plus, if you're using Thunderbird, it has OAuth2 authorization built in so it completely avoids anything to do with passwords.

@tonydi and @gary419 I just checked the link and 1 of my 2 ATT emails has been effected.
Interestingly, I have 2 yahoo/att emails...
1 is an sbcglobal.net email and that has been consistently troubled since 10/2021. I have contacted everyone I can find to contact including Eric "at the office of the president".
I have to reset my password every 3-4 weeks without fail and have to jump all kinds of hoops that I have discovered over the last 9 months.
My other email is an att.net email and I only started having troubles with it this week. The link showed that this email was not effected. So I don't think it seems related.
I have had the first email almost 20 years and the second one 7 years. I really really really do not want to have to change addresses, but this is maddening!!
I don't get how this hasn't being fixed already.
At one time we had our internet, home phone, cell phones, and cable with ATT. Due to ongoing issues, we dropped the home phone and cable, and are currently considering dropping the internet.
These issues make me want to drop it all!
