CARE CODE: 205.2 [LU003]
I cannot log into my at&t account or email on my laptop. I keep getting the error code CARE CODE: 205.2 [LU003] no matter what I do. I am using chrome and have cleared my cash and cookies. I am however able to see email on my cell phone. Please help!

hmmm...I am wondering if ATT is purposely trying to shut down their email accounts - by making is impossible for us to continue to use our email address we have with them.

@clutchgirl No, that's not it at all. We're only seeing a small subset of people having issues.
@mkmur55 I don't think you have that option. But I'll tell you what. If you go to the post you started and add a new comment on what you did to get your issue resolved, I'd be happy to mark it as a solution and close the post.

All I did was reset the PW and nothing more. Generally we don't use ATT for mail but it's tied to the management of our services. I hardly ever use this site due to the fact that it's a pain to navigate so if you can close the post, please do. ATT makes things to much of a pain to get resolutions...IMHO

Same here except now I'm locked out of all my devices. It's happening every week now.
3 possibilities:
Bots keep trying to guess your password using info from the 2020 data breech. After too many wrong guesses, your account is locked. I've talked to tech support about this and they deny it. Google: AT&T database of 70 million users sold on hacker forum
There are rumors that AT&T is trying to get rid of their free email service because it doesn't make money for them. Frustrate everyone so they go away.
Tech support people have created a "make work" scheme to keep themselves employed. Keep bugs in the system so you have to keep contacting them to reset your account. For example, I once worked with an offshore company for software development and that's how they roll. The project never ended because they never finished anything.

Some people are saying it's those pesky space lasers again. 🙄
That AT&T database breach isn't the one that would have contained your Yahoo credentials although I guess the 3 billion users who have had their credentials compromised by Yahoo data breaches over the last handful of years might be a problem.
Of course if it were a data breach then the bad guys wouldn't be tripping the "too many attempts" flag for the vast majority of users who never change passwords.
Rumors of AT&T trying to get rid of the free email accounts by frustrating users have existed since Yahoo first took over as the provider of the email service. Every time Yahoo steps in its 💩 and breaks something, which I am fond of saying only happens on days that end in "y", people bring up this theory.
If AT&T wanted to get rid of the email service, why frustrate only certain users? Clearly this current problem only affects a small percentage of AT&T customers. None of my AT&T and legacy accounts have this problem and none of my client's have reached out asking for help. And the tech media have been radio silent so it's not even a blip on their radar.
And the "make work" idea ignores the fact that the people responsible for fixing this are the people who already have permanent jobs as Yahoo engineers and software designers whether there are problems or not.

I have to change my password every day to get in via a browser. This is ridiculous. I've had this problem for 2 months now. What is going on? I've probably changed my password 15 times in the last 2 months trying to move past this. And I can't even post my comment since I'm locked out of my account.

This is exactly what is happening to me now & it’s been going on for 2 1/2 months getting worse with time!! They log me out after like 10 minutes & I never know if I’ll get back in my email w/o having to chat or call repeatedly. I have spent HOURS repeatedly via chat & on the phone being transferred to numerous “supervisors” & AT & T employees have actually disconnected the chat claiming the issue is fixed when it clearly is not at all fixed. It is absolutely unacceptable!! I’m going to cancel my cell phone service & anything to do with at & t. Their customer service is a complete waste of time & being transferred or disconnected b/c they don’t know how to actually fix it instead of escalating the issue to top tech support. I know several people with sbcglobal emails who are going through the same thing, so they know about it but aren’t doing anything or it would be fixed by now!!
