CARE CODE: 205.2 [LU003] Locked out of my email account

I could not log into my account on Friday morning. I was told by someone from AT&T that I would have to try again in 24 hours. I tried Saturday afternoon and Sunday, just now (11:30 am), and there is still a lock on it.

How do I get my email account unlocked so that I can log in?

Let's get you back into your email, @Jlivengood7

Care Code 205.2 can usually be resolved by re-syncing your account. The easiest way to do this is with a password reset.

  1. Go to http://sm.att.com/25e352c2.
  2. Select Forgot password?
  3. Fill out the password info.
  4. Choose security questions or temporary password and follow the prompts. If you choose a temporary password, we’ll let you know where we sent it.
  5. Create your new password.

If this doesn't help, we're going to need to manually sync your account. Please let us know how it goes!

I tried doing forgot password and it would not ask for temporary password. Can you please reset my email manually?

Let's get you signed back into your email, @Jlivengood7!

Can you let us know if your email is tied to any active AT&T services? The reason we ask is that our reset capabilities are limited for emails that are not tied to any services.

If you do not have active services and do not remember your security questions, learn why we cannot reset your email if you cannot remember your security questions.

We look forward to hearing from you!

I was able to get a hold of a customer service representative at AT&T. My account was hacked and that is why my security questions were not working. The AT&T associate was very helpful and was able to reset my account. Thank you!

I am having same issues almost on a daily basis since start of June.

I have not attempted any previous log in and yet will say after trying to log in the first time of the day: "Looks like you’ve tried to sign in unsuccessfully too many times. Recover your ID or reset your password to continue, " when using either Chrome or Firefox web browsers.

I will reset my password each time and will allow to log in to my email, but next day, it will show same error code.

I cleared my memory/history/cookies cache...even waited 24 hours to allow account to sync after changing password, but no luck.

My ATT email account app on my phone works though; so unsure what gives.

Very frustrating.

A T & T , please fix or find a solution.

ATT:  This has been going on for 1-2 years.  When will it be fixed?

Agree with DeDoc.  Boilerplate ATT response does not fix.  I get Care Code 205.2 [LU003] even when it's the correct password and I have not had any failed login attempts.  I have even had a long support call on this and it still happens.  This is an ATT system bug and not the user's fault.

Temp solution that works best -  Click on Forgot password and then reset the PW to the same one you knew was correct all along.  Still a pain, but at least you're not having to create a new PW every time.

I have the same issue and have had no solution for six months.  When is ATT going to address this significant problem?
