Can't access my sbcglobal.net yahoo email - ATT redirect

I've had my sbcglobal.net email for decades through yahoo. I know that ATT took over yahoo, so it redirects me to att each time I try to login to yahoo. I've tried SOOOO MANY possible solutions with no success. I'd really love to talk to someone live about this issue because I've already tried all of the basic suggestions most people give and don't want to waste more time on this. Please lmk how I can get customized help about this issue. Thanks!

AT&T never took over Yahoo.  Verizon did.  But it has since spun it back off.

Yahoo does provide consumer e-mail services on behalf of AT&T customers.  So when you want to look at your sbcglobal.net e-mail address, yahoo is the correct provider.  Or you can use currently.com, but it will reroute you to yahoo.

But, get this, if you need to log in, you'll go to an AT&T login page, because AT&T is the authentication provider for your account.  Then you'll be sent back to yahoo.

Once it redirects me to ATT login, I'm unsure as to what it's wanting me to enter. I only have one ATT account (for my phones and ipad), so when I login with that account, it just says "Hmm… that isn’t the ID you use for this service. Try signing in with another ID." But, I don't have another ID. I'm not sure how to move forward to resolve this. HELP!

Your ID would be your sbcglobal.net email address (including the @ and domain).

We can help you access your Sbcglobal email, @jaybay7.

As @JefferMC stated, you should be signing in with your Sbcglobal email and password. Make sure you're not signing in with your AT&T account information.

Update SOLVED!

Ok, so what needs to be done for anyone else that has this problem is contact AT&T (not yahoo). I used their live chat services. It took some time, and I had to be transferred to a couple people, but I eventually ended up with a special IT guy who was able to reset my sbcglobal email. This made it so that I was finally able to login to my account even when it redirects me to login to my ATT account. I'm so thankful for them for helping me get access to my yahoo account

Where can you access live chat with AT&T?

Chat got me no where ......... very disappointing that I can not speak with someone.  I have tried numerous AT&T phone #'s on their website and I get nowhere.

Ok, I have more information for you!

I just had to repeat the process this weekend with my parent’s sbcglobal.net yahoo emails. The process took much longer than my issue, mainly because I wasn't getting transferred to the right person to fix it. The solution was the same though! Here are some tips for you, since I was finally able to get both of theirs fixed.

They key is to get transferred to the DIGITAL ASSISTANCE DEPARTMENT. That’s the department that was finally able to do what I needed. Tell them that you just need someone to reset the email. They will do the reset and send you a temporary password. Then, you’ll login using the sign in at att.net and it’ll prompt you to create a new password. Then, login with your new password, and it’s fixed! Don’t give up on the chat, however, I do recommended trying to talk on the phone because I eventually had to do that, and it was just easier to convey my requests (they sent me a phone number to call, but it was just a standard ATT phone number and I still had to go through the robot prompts to get to a live person).

Don’t let them take you on rabbit holes with clearing cookies/cache, clicking the forgot password link, trying other browsers or URLs. If yours is the same problem as mine, these aren’t the solutions. Our issue is more of a glitch and needs a simple email reset. The ATT person that finally fixed it for me said that it’s a very simple fix on their end. He said the other people (after I talked to 5 different people before him) just aren’t trained in doing it.

Let me know if this is successful for you. Good luck!

I used the Yahoo by AT&T until about March of 2022 (this year).  Then my password wouldn't work and I can't find it again.  I need it !

@pgrenfell   Please stop posting the same thing in multiple threads, especially in old ones.  You already created your own thread, use that one!
