Cannot access my email account
I have been trying to open my webmail account with my latest password and I get the following error message;
The limit for unsuccessful sign-in attempts has been reached. Select Forgot user ID or Forgot password to restore access.
CARE CODE: 205.2(LU003)
I clicked on "forgot user ID" and it sent me an email with my username, but with no way to change my password. I tried clicking on "forgot passcode" and that link takes me to two security questions that were not the questions I set up. I answered them correctly even though they were not the questions I had picked and it tells me the answers are incorrect.
This is impossible because I know exactly what the make and model of my first car was and I also know exactly who my favorite teacher was as well.
This is totally frustrating and there is no way to get through this, I keep going around in circles and I'm not getting anywhere with this. Please help!!!!!

Let us shed more light on the message for you, @gracedel11!
The 205 error code is due to bad actors who are trying to access AT&T email accounts. We're aware that this is happening to quite a few people, and we're currently working on a resolution. You can get more information about why this is happening and what we're doing to fix it in our article that discusses the dreaded 205 error code.
Since you've already tried to reset your password, we'd like to invite you to a Direct Message in order to authenticate you and get you logged back into your email.
Please keep an eye out for a notification in the upper right corner of the screen. We look forward to speaking with you.

I tried the chat and it was all automated answers. I am still getting the 205 error code. Can someone at AT&T please reset or resync my account? Thanks

I kept getting this message even though I KNOW I was putting in the right password and Ive been trying for MONTHS and I reset the password and it would work for like a day and then that message would pop up again and I can’t log in on my first try on any device on any day. Resetting my password doesn’t fix this. I regret ever having AT&T this is so stupid it’s happening to all my accounts and all my families accounts I’m literally going insane

Exactly, it seems like every day I have to reset my password. It is getting very annoying!!!! I have read the threads, and it appears ATT has been aware of this for months. ATT any update when this will be fixed.

This happened to me also. I went through several troubleshooting steps to find out where the problem is. So let me shed some light on what I discovered and what I had to do to fix it. First of all, because AT&T's Mail Login Authentication page runs on a secure (https) 128-bit web server, it can be a little bit sensitive, especially if you are using the wi-fi card in your computer like me and connecting back to your router AT&T modem gateway.
1. Look in the lower right-hand corner of your desktop for your wi-fi connection manager.
2. Right-click on it and select "troubleshoot problems."
3. This will open up your Network Adapter troubleshooter and troubleshoot any connectivity issues between your wi-fi adapter and your router or AT&T gateway. If it finds any Internet connectivity issues, it should reset your wi-fi adapter and reconnect you back to your router or AT&T gateway.
4. Visit AT&T's Mail Site and try logging in again with your User ID and Password.
5. If this doesn't work, power cycle your router or AT&T modem gateway and wait for them to reconnect or re-sync back to AT&T's servers. This may take a few minutes for this process to complete. You should see the online light after it's successfully connected.
Note: You can also access the Network Adapter troubleshooter on your computer by clicking on Start, Settings, Update & Security, Troubleshoot, and then additional troubleshooters.
