BellSouth.net email Account

My BellSouth.net email account stopped working last night on my PC and smart phone. I also can access it from Web mail. I use an OAut password on all three so I don't understand why I'm now getting error messages that the account cannot be authenicated.

We can help you regain access to your email, Bill M.

Use the following troubleshooting options from the 3rd Party Mailbox - (Outlook, Apple Mail, Mozilla Thunderbird) section of our Login and Email Solutions guide:

Please keep in mind that AT&T does not officially support or troubleshoot mailboxes/clients such as Outlook.

We also recommend resetting your password to re-sync your email and help you sign in.

We'll be here if you need further assistance!

This happened to me last night as well (4/17)... Could not get email on phone, outlook or webmail.  Finally I reset my password on att.net and now am able to access webmail.  But still nothing on phone or outlook even though I've updated the new password in those places multiple times.

Same thing happened to me. Updated to new password and can get into web mail. However, Outlook and phone app still cannot access email. I've tried updating Outlook and phone to the new password - but no success. I use IMAP.

UPDATE: Fixed the problem by following the "Reset your secure key" link mentioned above by ATTHelp. This reset generates a new 16-character Secure Key. This Secure Key (not the att.com password) is put in the password field of your Outlook or phone app email setting.

Yes - I also just generated a new secure key. Worked in Outlook so that one is fine. Also entered it into iPhone - it said "verified" but no mail came in. I finally deleted my account on iPhone and started over and now phone is fine as well.

As an aside, I had gotten an email from ATT last night saying "we've temporarily locked your user ID" which seemed like spam, but that's when the trouble started.

Similar issue here and was told my account couldn't be found and there was nothing more they could do. Obviously AT&T changed something which caused accounts to be deleted and/or locked. They won't own up to it and instead are blaming customers. Terrible service.

On my end, every time I type the email in and send it to you, it shows as "email scrubbed"

You can try removing a letter from the email.
