ATT.com login redirects me to Directv.com

My att email ([email scrubbed]) is somehow linked to my Directv account, which is preventing me from logging into ATT.com. The login process (originating at ATT.com) redirects me to Directv.com. I can get to my email by going to att.net and logging in, but as soon as I try to do anything else (like change my password or look at my account info) I am redirected to my Directv account. My ultimate goal is to generate a secure mail key for Outlook (Office 365) to use with my ATT emails. This has to be done from ATT.com, which I can no longer access. I have spent hours explaining this to ATT Cust Support. One of the techs understood the issue and was transferring me to the DAC when I was cutoff. Earlier today I logged into Directv and changed my emails associated with the account to a gmail address. Before the tech tried to transfer me, he said he saw that my email address had been changed at DTV, but he also saw that my BellSouth.net address was embedded in the account & he didn't know how to fix it. Any help would be appreciated. I AM STUCK!

We recommend, that you try unlinking the DirecTV account from AT&T account.

Heads up: You can’t remove combined accounts (multiple services on the same account number) or U-verse TV and AT&T Internet accounts if you have primary online access. You also can’t remove suspended accounts.

To unlink/remove DirecTV account from AT&T please follow the below steps:

  1. Go to your myAT&T Profile. Sign in, if asked.
  2. Scroll to My linked accounts.
  3. Choose Remove this account for the account you want to unlink. If you try to remove a canceled account with a balance due, we’ll ask you to make a payment.
  4. Select one of these, if asked:
    • A secondary user to replace you as the primary user
    • No one
  5. Choose a new primary contact account, if asked.
  6. Follow the directions to remove the account from your ID.

If issue still persists, please try contacting DirecTV support.

Hi Nate-

Thank you for responding. I cannot get to the link you provided. When I click on it, it sends me to DTV (after login).

How do I get around this?
