AT&T server can't verify cell phone number to enable me to log in to email
When attempting to log in to the AT&T server (through Currently.com) to access my email, AT&T directs me to first verify my cell phone number. Not sure I ever gave AT&T that number. When I enter it (or any number) to get the verification code, the "Submit" button stays grayed out and nothing happens. I can't bypass the verification page, so I cannot access my email on the server. However, my iPhone and iPad still capture the emails off the server. How can I access the server directly?

Thanks for reaching out to us, and we'd be happy to help you get cell phone number added to your email account @Linguist23.
To get started, we'd suggest first clearing the cache and cookies from the device that you're using. There could be data on your device that could be preventing you from completing this process.
Also, make sure there aren't any extra spaces at the end or in the middle when you input your number. This has caused the submit button to be greyed out, and unable to be pressed. If you have to input your name, make sure there aren't any extra spaces either or an ampersand sign.
Let us know if this helps.

Thanks for responding, Robert. I've now cleared the cache and cookies from my Chrome browser and signed in again. Entered my cell # with no spaces anywhere (the system automatically puts in periods to separate the digit groups). That was the only info I was asked to enter. Still get the grayed-out "Submit" button. Next steps?

Thanks for sharing that information with us, @Linguist23.
Have you tried to verify your cell phone number through a different web browser, and if so is the "confirm" button still greyed out? This will help us know if it's the web browser that could be causing you to be unable to input your wireless number.
Also, is your wireless number an AT&T wireless number or do you have through another cell phone carrier? This will let us know the next steps we'll need to take.
Let us know if this helps.

I've tried verification from both Chrome and Edge today after clearing the cache and cookies, and I tried it from Safari and Firefox without clearing them a couple days ago.
My cell service is indeed through AT&T wireless. As I mentioned earlier, I'm not sure I ever gave my cell # as a recovery option before.
Thanks for your continued help.

We appreciate you letting us know, @Linguist23.
Please try to input 111-111-1111 as the phone number. You won't be able to use the text method to recover your email, but it will let you get to the point to where you can select the email as the recovery method.
Let us know this helps.

Unfortunately, the 1's solution doesn't work (entered without spaces). "Submit" button still grayed out.

Thanks for sharing that information with us, @Linguist23.
Have you tried to verify your cell phone number on a separate device than the one that you've been using? This is to help us confirm that it's not a device issue, and what next steps we'll need to take to get you into your email account and verify your cell phone number.

Blessings, I have had a similar issue each time trying to get into my email account. I think it's becasue I do not have an AT&T phone number (it's a Verizon number). So, it doesn't save my number in the software. However, when the pop-up page appears and asks me for my phone number I just type in my phone number and select "submit"... and when it takes me to the next page for the verification code I don't enter any code. I just select the link on the bottom beneath the box that says "Take me to my account" and it goes straight to my email. Hope this work around works for you.

@ATTHelp: Yes, I've tried to verify on PC desktop, iPad and iPhone, with the same result.
JRLemay: Thanks for your comment, but since the "submit" button remains grayed out after entering the phone #, I can't go any further.

Thank you for letting us know, @Linguist23!
So that we can dig a little deeper into what's causing the 'submit' button to be grayed out, we'll need to speak privately. Check the Direct Message inbox in the top right corner of your screen. We'll be sending you a DM shortly and look forward to speaking with you!
