Still broken here. Hope I’m somewhere on the list. Seems odd that they implement a solution that only resolves it for some people and not everyone.

We're here to assist with your email, @dgow888!

We recommend resetting your password as this re syncs your account. Doing this has corrected this issue for other customer's in the past. Here are the steps to do so:

  1. Go to att.com/myatt.
  2. Select Forgot password?
  3. Fill out the password info.
  4. Choose security questions or temporary password and follow the prompts. If you choose a temporary password, we’ll let you know where we sent it.
  5. Create your new password.

Let us know if this helps! If not, we have a few more things we can try.

Well, I had to change my password this morning even though I had checked the stay logged in box.  Since then I have been logged off twice.  So it looks like the problem is back!

@DeadEye57 I'm so sorry to hear that the timeout problem has returned for you after about 8 days of working.  That doesn't bode well for the rest of us who are holding our breath now to see if the issue returns for us also.  So far, so good for me.  However, when I didn't check the box to keep me logged in, it timed out after a while.  So the next time I logged in, I checked the box and so far it hasn't time out on me for about 24 hours now.  Another added benefit with the latest update/change/correction from unknown origins is that I no longer get that annoying message after sign in telling me to enter a wireless phone number for account recovery or whatever nonsense that was.

Still having issues here. Today, I was required to change my password for one email address. When I tried to sign in the first time today, it said there had been too many attempts (even though it was my first sign in) and I had to change my password. It seems there are new issues every week. Will this ever get fixed?

It's broke, Yahoo, Att, bellsouth, etc, I really dont care, I reiterate, It's broke. It appears to log me out, however, I'm able to still refresh it and receive new emails. SO it isn't booting me off the server. It just isn't letting me access my settings for the account. Of course, too many attempts error message as well. Every couple weeks for I forgot how long now...

                         TO MANAGEMENT IN THIS CONGLOMERATE:

How long can you as a super-paid, super-service giant ignore this? Paid customers or legacy users; fix this god-(Edited per community guidelines)ed problem. Or get out of the game and move over for another carrier that cares and sticks their code-writers/breakers on things when this crap happens. GET IT DONE!

I just had to do the same thing. After the 2 weeks, it makes me do it all over again.

Fixing this is hard to impossible for a lot of technical reasons, and the inter-nested relationship between the various att.net properties (billing, mobile, directv, fiber, legacy dsl, etc), the legacy domains (bellsouth, sbcglobal, etc), and the email provider (Yahoo.com). While I know you "don't care" about this, some things may be unfixable as the system has been painted into a technical corner.

You have a few options.

1) Move to another email provider. This is extreme, and painflu. However, GMail has the new "GMAILIFY" process to import old mail and even send email as your old identity while you transition over. I fyou want to pay a fee, you can own your own domain and transfer to that so you never need to be beholden to an email provider again.

2) Use a mail reader program on your PC and phone. Whether the Yahoo app, Mail on Mac, Mail on Windows, or Outlook, fetch your mail to an application on the PC.  This will save you from weird login issues in the web browser from the technical issues listed above.

3) Use a dedicated browser "profile" or "context" for email reading. A lot of the logout issues happen crossing between sites, where one site can invalidate the authentication state of another. If you set up a specific browser context only for your email and do general browsing in another profile, the logouts may not happen.

I know you "don't care" about the problem, but the situation may not even be fixable from AT&Ts side due to the evolution of the authentication process and the fact that some of the authentication scenarios are literally not supportable with existing standards.

AT&Ts webmail situation is extremely complex, and unless you want to invest the time to investigate the issues in great detail, you will end up with mysterious logouts. Dedicated mail readers are probably the easiest fix, if not moving to a different email provider.

Also, one other question: Are you using any web browser plug ins like ad blockers, antivirus, or privacy protection? Some of those are aggressive about blocking the kinds of authentication tokens needed for accessing AT&T mail.
