yahoo+ email spam

I started paying 5.00 for a Yahoo+ mail account a year ago because AT&T advertised it would be an upgrade with spam filter. However I continue to get lots of spam daily which I mark as spam daily. This has had no effect at all. I continue to get spam and lots of spam daily. What is the problem? Why isn't the spam filter kicking in?

Hi @suzbethful,

Possible Solutions:

  1. Filter Settings: Verify your spam filter settings and increase the filtering level if needed.
  2. Learning Period: Allow time for the filter to learn and improve accuracy.
  3. Update Filter Rules: Ensure your account has the latest filter rules to catch new types of spam.
  4. Mark Spam Correctly: Use the correct "mark as spam" option to help the filter learn.
  5. Inbox Rules: Review and adjust inbox rules that might let spam through.
  6. Whitelist/Blacklist: Check for any accidental whitelisting of spam sources or blacklisting of valid emails.
  7. Contact Support: Reach out to Yahoo+ support for assistance.
  8. Use Additional Tools: Consider third-party anti-spam tools for added protection.

Remember, no filter is perfect, and maintaining a strong, unique password is important for security.

#1 - there are NO filters listed under Settings>Filters>Your Filters>Add New Filters.

What am I supposed to see here? There are no filters to choose from.

We can help you filter email spam, suzbethful.

Create filters to send certain emails to spam by following these steps from our article on reporting and filtering email spam:

  1. Select the gear Gear icon and then More Settings.
  2. Choose Filters.
  3. Select Add to create a filter.
  4. Enter the conditions for your filter and then select Save.

You'll need to use Currently (the official site for AT&T email accounts) or the Yahoo! Mail app on Android, not iOS.

If this doesn't help, we recommend reaching out to the Yahoo! support team for additional assistance.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

So thank you for the response.. Are you telling me that if I have an iPhone, I cannot set up filters for my Yahoo+ mail account?

Why do I have to set up filters???? I want to control spam. Why is the ATT anti-spam program not working for me?

@suzbethful, You should be able to set up the filters using the instructions above, though, to access Currently, you will need to use your web browser.  Once there, you can follow the previous instructions regarding the filters.

If you are unable to edit the filters via your Yahoo+ account, you will need to reach out to Yahoo's support team.

Please give that a go and let us know if that helps.
