Spam overload with sbcglobal adddresses; AT&T seems to add new ATT.net and yahoo suffix to old sbcglobal.net addresses
Spam overload with sbcglobal adddresses - the amount of spam has been out of control.
It appears that AT&T has added new, additional ATT suffixes to the older primary sbcglobal addresses, allowing spamers to send emails to my address by changing the "sbcglobal" part of my address to "att" or "yahoo".
Any suggestions at to how not to allow/reject the att.net or Yahoo emails into my box?

We're here to assist with your spam concern, @BTX!
We advise marking the emails as spam, so the system can detect the emails in the future. You can also forward the emails to us using this email: abuse@att.net.
While you do that, we recommend you view our article that covers other ways to report any suspected fraud that comes via email or phone.
Let us know if this helps! If not, we have one more step to take before we can proceed!

Unfortunately, this is not helpful at all. I've been reporting every spam email to ATT via the spam address you gave me for 3 months now, and there is no change. Reporting those emails to spam does not seem to change anything.
I'd appreciate it if you would try to assist by doing more than copying and pasting a simple answer. I spend 15 to 30 minutes a day reporting and removing the spam.
Could you address the issue of finding my email with @att.net or Yahoo when I never signed up for those addresses? Why are they coming to me in abundance? Why is AT&T allowing them to come through to me?

Thank you for that information, @BTX!
Can you please inform us of what access method you are using to log into your email? This way we can provide steps to apply a filter to see if that will resolve your issue.
We look forward to hearing from you!

AT&T hasn't adding anything. It's not uncommon for spammers to take an email that is BTX at sbcglobal.net and then try BTX at att, net, BTX at gmail.com, BTX at outlook.com etc.
I can't think of any good way to filter those emails since the only thing common is the part in front of the at sign, which you need to keep coming in!
You're absolutely correct about what a waste of time sending anything to the abuse dept.

I go in 3 different ways. Either I go to yahoo.com via computer, and it sends me to sign in to ATT again, or I use the Yahoo app and sign in there, or I receive it via my Outlook integration. The spam appears on everything, unless somehow I catch it and before I get it in Outlook, but still many appear. And in Outlook, I always label them as junk and click "Block Sender", but lately they found another way to hide the sender's email address, so they cannot be blocked this way. I Yahoo/Att, on the app or computer, I first forward them to your spam address, then move them to the spam box. I'm talking about hundreds in a week.

Latoya, how does this help with the problem?
What would I filter?
The spam is out of control - there is nothing in common to filter it by.
Do you have a suggestion that applies to my situation?

@BTX They have no solutions. They've never even addressed the issue head on, they just keep pretending like this is normal spam and you just create a filter!
Of course it took 8 months for ATTHelp to discover the source of the "too many failed login attempts" , so maybe in another few months they'll finally figure out why the Yahoo spam filters are on vacation. Of course they still haven't fixed that first one and it's been 2 months so I'm not holding my breath on this fix either.

We understand how frustrating spam is, @BTX.
The previous recommendations are all the support we can provide at this time. We suggest continuing to forward the emails to abuse@att.com. It's the best way to inform us of the spam.

@tonydi
Speaking of this, did they find an answer to all the failed login attempts? This is another issue we have been having. We keep having to change our passwords, even though they are correct.
Also, how do you respond directly to me on this forum, highlighting the @BTX? I couldn't figure out how to reply directly to you.
