Not receiving emails from Instagram to reset password, or my own ATT email

Hello,

I have been locked out of my Instagram account which is linked to my ATT email because I forgot my password. When Instagram sends me the reset link, I receive no email (yes my email was spelled correctly because I have been able to reset in the past this way). There is nothing in spam/junk/other folders. No blocked domains or contact or filters or anything like that. I never use this email except for a couple social media accounts since the email account is over a decade old. I tried sending myself an email from myself (ATT email) and received nothing. I tried sending myself an email from gmail and DID receive that one, so I know it’s still able to receive some emails.
Any tips on this? I’ve tried the troubleshooting  options that ATT offers on the help pages etc but nothing is helpful and I can’t find a contact to speak or email someone directly about this.

We'll do our best to help you get your email from Instagram, @Melissatornado!

 

Instagram emails come from Facebook's servers, so let's start there:

  • Log in to your Facebook account and go to Settings and Privacy.
  • Go to Settings, then Security and Login.
  • There you'll find a setting titled Get alerts about unrecognized logins.
  • Turn it on and add the email account that you use for Instagram (the one not receiving the emails).

From there, you'll receive an email verification from Facebook. Once you've validated the email, go back to Instagram and try the password reset. The email should come through this time.

 

If this doesn't work, try reaching out to Instagram's support team to see what they suggest.

I am having the same issue but with instagram. My bellsouth email is not receiving the email from instagram with the code I need to log back in. I know my email address is correct and it is not in my spam folder

@ATTHelp How can I verify I am able to receive emails from the @instagram.com domain? It is not blocked or anything from my end. Thanks.

No lie this literally worked for me when nothing else did. I only had my email linked but I wasn’t getting the confirmation codes they were sending and unfortunately I didn’t link my phone number. I’ve literally tried everything from deleting my emails & photos to emailing Instagram which didn’t solve anything, to being on the phone with google for 35 minutes & still nothing. I was desperate to retrieve my account at this point since I got locked out 2 days ago. Thank god I found this AT&T solution that ACTUALLY worked when nothing else did because if I didn’t I probably wouldn’t have been able to get back into my account ever again. Thank you!

I’ve been locked out of my account for over a week. My iCloud email wasn’t receiving the recovery emails so I couldn’t confirm my account. I emailed instagram support with NO HELP, and even called Apple about my account. This thread here saved me and my entire instagram account. As soon as I did the Facebook part, my email showed up, after 10+ failed attempts. THANK YOU SO MUCH

Go back and resend the confirmation code following the steps from the instagram app, using the text message or backup code option. When it emailed me again, I received only it after adding my email to Facebook. 

did you try this on your Facebook settings?
