We can help you retrieve your emails, GRS!

Just use our Missing Mail Restore feature. Complete a restore request form, and we’ll do the rest. This will restore your mailbox to where it was up to 7 days ago.

Before you complete the form, please keep a few things in mind:

  1. You can’t cancel a restore request.
  2. Restoration efforts aren’t always successful.
  3. Recovered emails go into the same folders they were in on the restore date you pick. Check your trash folder if you can’t find them after the restoration.
  4. You should back up any important emails received or sent in the past 7 days.

If you have any other questions or concerns, just let us know.

Unless I'm mistaken, December 2001 is more than 7 days ago....unless someone is living in an alternate universe.

I think the way Yahoo worded this feature is misleading.  The deletion of the emails has to have been within the last 7 days.  Think of it as restoring a backup of the entire account.  I guess Yahoo doesn't keep more than 7 days worth of backups.

The emails in question were never deleted they just are no longer showing in my Inbox.  What is currently showing are emails going back to November 2019. I rarely delete any received email. I'm thinking that there is an archive somewhere that will allow me to un-archive the range of email needed from December 2001 to January 2002.

In my original question, I never described the emails as deleted, I simply wanted them to show again in my Inbox or on a file that AT&T could proved.

Thanks for your comment.

It's Yahoo, nobody that's familiar with how it works thinks you (or anyone) deleted them.  It's not unheard of for some or all of someone's emails to just "disappear", poof.

The restore function does essentially like I explained so I'm thinking it must just go do a backup restore.  The only question is when they disappeared.

Far too often when this happens it's to people who don't actively use their account so it might be months since the last time they logged on to discover the missing emails.

Hi there, @GRS. Thanks for confirming your concern.

We are unable to go back that far, to restore emails to accounts. We know that this is frustrating and very bad news. Please make sure and check all of your devices, to see if the emails in question has been downloaded to them either by app or by email client.

However, we do want to give you a recommendation. Here is a sure fire way to keep a copy of your email on the sever. The aforementioned support article will give you a few suggestions on settings that may need to be changed, if you are using an email client or app.

If there is anything else that we can do for you, please let us know.

Thank you for being a loyal AT&T subscriber.
