email identifier

I'm addressed as 'ATT Mail' to anyone I send an email to - when I look for my name in an email sent to a group of people - I'm there as 'ATT Mail' I wanted to check my profile to see how I could change that and noticed my email was 'unverified' - so thinking maybe if I verify my email that might change how  I am identified - I am told to enter a code that was sent to my email before proceeding - probably to confirm I'm who I say I am - but nothing is ever sent to my email so I'm unable to enter a code and cannot proceed. Is anyone else having this type of problem?

So when you send an email it arrives as ATT Mail <yourname at sbcglobal.net>?

If so log into your account and go to Settings (gear icon in upper right), then More Settings.

Click #1 and #2 as shown below.  That ATT Mail thing should be what's in #3.  Change it and don't forget to click Save at the bottom of the screen.

tonydi thank you so much this worked perfectly - ive been on the phone with different att depts for approx 3 months & no one seemed to be able to help with this simple solution. again thanks!

I'm so glad it worked for you, @c94arg   The sad part is 3 months (or 3 yrs) from now AT&T "support" will still be clueless about the answer to this.  Nothing seems to filter down to them based on solutions posted here.
