Walnut would be the host name of something that has connected to your network. The attlocal.net is used as a private domain for your home by the Gateway.
If you are using Smart Home Manager to see Walnut, you should be able to click on it and see what Smart Home Manager has identified as the manufacturer of the node, and the Ethernet MAC address, the first 6 digits of which can help identify the manufacturer.
