We can help you install AT&T antivirus plus powered by McAfee @shannon4465.

You can install AT&T Antivirus Plus on up to four computers, either Windows®, Mac®, or both. If you’re using a Windows computer, we suggest doing a pre-installation cleanup.

If you have:

  • AT&T Internet or DSL with a connection speed of 3Mbps or higher, you can download AT&T Antivirus Plus free of charge.
  • DSL with a connection speed of 1.5Mbps or lower, you can sign up for a discounted subscription of $5 per month.

You should uninstall existing security software on your computer before downloading AT&T Antivirus Plus. This includes current or expired security products. If you don't, you may get subscription expired errors.

Here’s how to get it:

  • Go to AT&T Antivirus Plus and select Download Now.
  • Enter your AT&T user ID and password.
  • Choose your option. If you have internet speeds of:
    • 3Mbps or higher, go to Step 4.
    • 1.5Mbps or lower, select Buy Subscription. You can purchase a subscription for $5 per month.
  • Follow the prompts to download and install AntiVirus Plus.

You can understand more about the features, costs, and requirements of AT&T Antivirus Plus.

Please let us know if you need further assistance.

Thanks for contacting AT&T Community Forums.

Hi.  I am having a similar problem and the ATT technical support person I spoke to wasn't able to assist me.  When I go to the "Install AT&T AntiVirus Plus" page (https://www.att.com/support/article/dsl-high-speed/KM1046931) and click on "

Go to AT&T AntiVirus Plus and select Download Now." it takes me to the download page and gives me this message:  "Error: An error has occurred. Please try again later. If the problem persists contact customer support."  I am running Windows 11 and have tried on Chrome and Edge, and on an Incognito page on Chrome.  Would really appreciate assistance.  Thank you.

We'd be glad to help you install AntiVirus Plus, jmcohen.

To make sure there's nothing on your computer that's stopping the program from downloading, we suggest doing a pre-installation cleanup on your computer.

Let us know if this helped or if you need further assistance.

Thanks.  I did the pre-installation cleanup before attempting to download the software.

Thanks for getting back to us, jmcohen.

Let's see if the following troubleshooting options will fix the error message:

  • Flush your computer's DNS cache.
    1. Access the Start menu:
    2. Select Run.
    3. Type ipconfig /flushdns.
    4. Select OK.
  • Sign out of your att.net account and sign back in.
  • Make sure that you're signng in with the primary email address.
  • See if you can access mcafee.com and successfully surf the website. If not, there may be a temporary outage.
  • Close all browser windows.
  • See if you're able to download AntiVirus on Firefox.

We'll be awaiting the results!

I can now get to the Download your subscription page, but when I click on the Submit button, I get the same error message.
