Cannot get mail. The mail server imap.mail.att.net is not responding.
Greetings. My SNET.net email stopped working suddenly on my old iPhone 4s. I have deleted the account andtried all ways of manually signing in, and nothing works: I get the repeated message: "Cannot get mail. The mail server imap.mail.att.net is not responding." The Yahoo sign In does not work either. The email can be accessed everywhere else, on many other devices.
The forums have suggested getting a secure key from ATT.com website, and using this as the password in the setup of the mail account on my iPhone. My question is this: Does this secure key affect or change ALL of my sign in passwords on this email account wherever I might sign in, or only this once on this iPhone email set up? Thanks for help in this frustrating matter.

Having a secure mail key is like having a second password. It does not effect your main password or any other device using that password.

Thank you for confirming the secure key will not affect my primary password for this SNET.NET email. What are the steps to obtain a secure key, so I can get the email back on the old iphone 4S?

Unfortunately the secure key did not enable me to put the SNET.net email on my iphone 4S. Same error message as in original post. Any thoughts?

Hi Everyone, I have been trying to find the page where I can generate a "secure mail key" but the tools on the AT&T sites do not seem to be working and/or the pages are blank. I have cleared my caches and tried three different browsers. Where can I find the proper page to do this? Thank you!
