Why can't I get faster internet service, even though the house next door, 50 yards away can?

Wow, that's bizarre, three homes in a row with different max speeds.  Almost sounds like some sort of database error but that never happens with AT&T. 🙄

Go to http://192.168.1.254/  and click on the Broadband tab.  Look for Sync rates, Attenuation, Noise Margin and Error counts and post a screencap of those sections. 

Yeah, it's been like that for forever. We're even willing to pay for new lines to be run if that's the case. Here's that info.

Yeah, I can see that the current connection isn't going to be able to handle faster speeds. Max Rate is ~22kbps and you'd need well over 25 to get to the next level. 

The fact that you're on an Interleaved circuit and still only getting barely above 6dB on the noise margin is concerning.  It's interesting that you aren't also complaining about dropped connections.

I just wish I could talk to someone at ATT that could help me understand why, after almost 20 years, we're in this ONE spot that can't get just a little faster, more reliable service. I have some special messages saved for the day Starlink comes available here.

There's definitely some sort of line condition that is holding you back and it doesn't seem like it's a distance thing based on the attenuation.  The problem is how to get a tech to dig deep enough to find the cause.

These numbers remind me of what you see in older MDUs when the signal is coming in on crappy old phone lines (quad wire) instead of through a CAT5 home run.

@davemize That's completely possible. I'd even be willing to talk to AT&T about what it would cost to put new lines down, but I can't find anyone who even understands my question when I call. They all want to follow their script as if I'm having router issues. Nope, I'm getting all you'll give me. It's just that in 2022, that's an unacceptable speed, and I'd love to work with you to resolve it.

@ATTHelp I appreciate your response but it still doesn't explain why houses on EITHER side of me get faster speed than me right in the middle.
