Please explain your seemingly random and unchanging fiber availability in my area

Hello. I live in the 48093 zip code - Warren, MI. Your availability map shows fiber coverage on a ~10ish square block area a few hundred feet across the street to my north, and an even bigger ~25+ square block area across the street to my east. Yet in the last six months, there has apparently been no progress filling in the gaps. Your customer service department (in India) naturally knows nothing. You have a huge mile long row of apartment buildings and townhouses over here to tap for customers....what gives?

Unknown when or if Fiber will come to your community. ATT doesn't disclose expansion plans to the public or to it's field staff. You'll know about an expansion if you see contractors in the area pulling fiber. AT&T isn't concentrating on fiber expansion in existing neighborhoods any more. Most new fiber is dedicated to 5G towers, government & emergency services and new housing developments.

No, ATT doesn't disclose any of the planning process. It takes place well above the local field offices, which is why your local office didn't know anything. Expanding into a new area involves years of planning: site surveys, engineering analysis, financial analysis, permitting, easement acquisitions, government right-of-ways, etc. The final rollout will have a predetermined number of connections supported by the system, and that won't change at this point. There's also the chance that the fiber you see being laid isn't residential at all, but could be passing through on the way to support 5G towers, hospitals, education, etc.

AT&T has flagged the pathway to lay fiber optic in a neighborhood next to my neighborhood that has 77 potential customers.  How does the selection of neighborhood proceed?  This pathway is going down a large boulevard and bypassing our neighborhood.  I have tried contacting the local AT&T but they were clueless.  Does anyone know how sections are selected?  I'm in 78382 zip code area.
