Nefarious sales representative
Called to inquire about setting up internet service. I had set it up on behalf of a roommate with AT&T a few months back but they moved out and I needed it set up under my name. When I spoke to the representative he ignored everything I said completely and instead obnoxiously pressured me to sign up for a $200/month plan. When I told him that I wanted the previous plan I had under my roommates name, he claimed there was no such thing when I can still look on the old account and see the plan details. He refused to tell me his name, he wouldn’t let me speak to a supervise and claimed he was a supervisor, then he said he would block my number and hung up. Yesterday, I went through one of the most traumatic experiences of my life and it was extremely difficult to be treated this way when I’m hurting so deeply and just simply trying to get the internet back on.

Only one residential account per address, which is already setup under the ex roommate name.
options to establish new service at existing address…
* They must either move their service, once mover order completed your address would be eligible to order new service
* they must cancel their existing service at that address, cancel accounts are good to end of current billing cycle
* they could transfer billing responsibility to you, they have to initiate the request online, then you must accept… account number / equipment stays the same.
* you order new service from a different ISP that could be the local cable company, cellular hotspot provider or satellite internet.
* you can order business service internet, as not a residential account, for same address. Business internet is more expensive than residential but appears to be what the person trying to help was recommending. Has separate account, equipment, installation charges, etc.
You did call ATT and not an authorized agent, correct?
You should be able to do everything online for setting up new service once the existing service is cancelled or moved.

You can’t do everything online through the affordable connectivity program as I was trying to do. The service had changed addresses already so that’s irrelevant. Basically I needed help with something I knew I needed and the guy ignored me and was a (Edited per community guidelines)
