Low Income Internet Plan
Please actually read this & know you probably can't deal with it. Your company is unwittingly discriminating against some Native Americans in at least Oklahoma. This will need someone in charge &/or the Gov't agency you're offering the low income internet program on behalf of. And if I can't get anywhere this way will turn this over to news stations.
Because I tried AT & T @ Facebook & with their reply knew immediately they didn't even bother to read my post. So I posted again & never heard another word. Except that I was denied for the low income internet plan.
My friend gave me a # & whoever answered the phone said I had to apply online. I could get cheap A T & T internet for low income people if I had a snap card or lived in Cali where they don't get snap cards so they can send SSI/SSDI Award letters instead.
I'm a member of the Cherokee Nation in OK. Instead of snap benefits we can choose Indian commodities & I do because I get more food this way but they're the same thing. Gov't low income cell phones know this. Yet you don't. Because you have 2 buttons when applying online for this program & one says I agree I have a snap card & the other says I agree I live in Cali & have SSI/SSDI letter. I picked the one that says I have a snap card & uploaded a copy of my commodities card - same as I do with the Gov't cell phone people - but I was denied.
Since we who get Indian commodities can't get snap benefits like folks in Cali than you should accept SSI/SSDI award letters from us because I got one. Indeed - I've got several ways to prove I'm poor enough for low income internet: commodities card, SSI/SSDI award letter, Medicare &/or Medicaid card & contract or lease with low income housing. You just don't accept them.
Please get this fixed & let me know when I can try to apply again. 🙂

12 days later & still haven't heard a word. Maybe you'll respond to the Cherokee Nation.

@86Steeler4Life I don't know where your post went. But not even $10 off my $50 net bill don't help much.
There's no confusion. AT&T is lazy. They want snap cards because DHS has already done all the work for them. If you're poor enough for food stamps then you're poor enough for cheap net.
What they don't realize is a lot of us disabled & retired folks would get such a low amount of food stamps we don't bother accepting them. I would've gotten like $5-$10 - not worth the paperwork, time & gas. So limiting people to snap cards - unless you live in Cali - is nonsense. If they can take SSA/SSI awards letters from people in Cali they should be able to accept them from anyone. Is it that much more work to look at an awards letter?
