Internet 1000 equipment fees
My current AT&T Internet 100 has a monthly price of $40 with discounts (no taxes or fees) that will expire in the next month or so. This includes the WiFi router that was in the previous UVerse bundle when I dropped UVerse TV approximately 2 years ago.
AT&T Internet 1000 is priced at $49.99 for one year and when you drop it into the cart, that is the price. But then there is the asterisk referring to a $10/month fee for the Wifi router and then 'other' fees that 'might' total 21.2% + $1.50/month. There is no clarity in this.
1. Do I have to pay the $10/month equipment fee if I supply my own router?
2. What is the reality of the 'other' fees for Internet 1000 only - no bundled TV, no bundled wireless, no bundle home security?
How does one communicate with AT&T today to get this information?
Thanks in advance for any help.

EVERYONE pays the equipment fee unless it is part of a promotional price (and those are $10 higher). So yes, you have to pay the lease fee regardless if you buy your own router or not so you might as well use theirs.
While fees can be the same for everyone, taxes vary by region depending on what your state, county and city is collecting. Learn about Taxes, Surcharges & Fees
Don't call CS and ask them. They don't have the answer on a good day. Even if you could someone on the line today (you know...this whole pandemic nonsense), they wouldn't be able to give you an EXACT answer.
