WiFi drops almost daily

I have ATT Fiber and the Pace 5268A U-Verse Modem and a Google Wife mesh system (recently replaced with Netgear Router). I noticed that my WiFi connection was dropping every day or every other day and thought I would have more control by replacing the Google Wifi mesh system. Through research and conversation with other customers I was pointed in the direction of identifying a Double NAT issue and was advise to work with ATT to bypass or create a passthrough on the U-Verse Modem.

Question 1: Is this the right solution?

Question 2: Are there instructions to follow or is this something I have to coordinate through ATT support?

Thanks in advance!

Anytime you have a gateway (router/modem combination) and you are using the gateway's WiFi, you will have a double NAT because both routers, the gateway and the one you attach to it are trying to handle the network traffic and security at the same time. What you need to do is put the gateway in bridge mode or pass through which essentially disables the router in the gateway and allows the attached router to handle all the heavy lifting.

Thank you for the reply. I will do some looking around to find a guide on putting my ATT modem in bridged mode.
