trying to find an estimate for underground cut internet line

I have a house my mom left me for a retirement house.I had a contractor digging without having lines marked 1st and he cut the internet line and also a landline.I know my mom had at&t landline so I called for an estimate repair cost and was told I need the phone in my name and running service.I don't want a phone bill for an empty house. When i retire i want a landline and internet in working order but i am looking for some kind of estimate now so i can sue the contractor for both lines but i need some kind of proof of cost for the judge.Any help would be appreciated.    Thankyou

If it's just copper lines and not fiber call a low voltage contractor and see if they have what's needed to repair a buried phone line.

An estimate for cost is to get the work actually done…

As replacement cost cost can vary based upon total copper length plus if any boring required such as under street, alley,  driveway, sidewalk, etc.

If wanting an estimate could figure cost may be $5 to $10 per foot… 100 ft replacement might be $1000, while a repair (splice the damage) could be under $200.

Or if you're handy get a Serviseal or two and fix it yourself if no cable is needed.
