repair contractor used my lawn for his debris

I would like to know if this is standard practice--I would assume not. On Monday, July 19 a repair contractor dug up part of my lawn and installed temporary fiberoptic to fix a problem across the street. He left every pieces of wire debris on my lawn, the sidewalk, and street.

I'm sure the utility has the right of way to dig up the wire, but leaving trash all over other people's homes is NOT acceptable. On top of this, it looks like this person went out of their way to do the most damage possible to my lawn, and left the wire sticking up so I can not mow what's still growing.

I know this amount of damage is uncalled for because two months ago a different contactor was here fixing this same line and they had to dig up and tunnel under the street. Even with that extensive work, the people who did that job took care to leave my lawn looking like almost nothing had happened. I've spent a lot of time and money to have a good looking lawn, this kind of carelessness is not appreciated.

I don't want them to try and fix the sod or throw down seed for a different type of grass. I want them to come pick up their trash!

Are the items so heavy that you can't pick them up and put them in a trash bag?

If I see trash in the street in front of my house, I pick it up and dispose of it properly.

@skeeterintexas  the debris shown looks as if it could be picked up with one hand, also looks as if the op neatly piled up the debris for the picture so why not just toss it rather that go through all this

@Constructive  and @skeeterintexas  It's not a matter of whether I can pick it up or not. It's a matter of my home and my neighbor's homes are not a trash can for AT&T contractors to throw their discarded wire. This was not one piece of errant wire that got dropped, this was every piece of stripped wire and trash he decided was easier to leave on the ground rather than pick up.

If I were to drop trash anywhere I would pick it up. That's just common courtesy. I certainly do not go to other people's homes and leave my trash there for them to pick up, just because "it can be picked up with one hand."

I'm not sure how this is supposed to be constructive feedback. It isn't. I had some slim hope that AT&T might care how their representatives are acting out in the world and maybe try to do something to correct it in the future, but clearly I was mistaken.
