New Construction on divided property that has AT&T but it is not available to me
I have recently built a house and have been absolutely frustrated trying to get internet service (or any service) to my house. The parcel of land that is mine was given to me by my parents who have AT&T U-Verse at their address. I have not been able to explain this over the phone to anyone at AT&T. I get bounced from sales to technicians who send me back to sales. The sales dept. says internet is not available in my area but neighbor's addresses have it available. Only thing available to me is DirectTV which i do not care to have. I've spent several hours on the phone trying to get anyone to understand.
thank you

If the land was divided into two lots, the address may not be in the att database. Do you have a usps postal address yet? What services do other addresses next to you show available?

Do you have a separate tax address register with local government and USPS.
In other words the zoning has been changed and the address exists as a separate lot not a separate housing unit on the main lot.
If yes, the next concern is if capacity exists to provide service for the new lot. There may only be enough connections for established addresses.
DirecTv as satellite service does not require a hardwired service

Constructive: I am aware that U-Verse is no longer available. I am not asking for that product.
browndk26 and my thoughts: I do have a separate postal address (have received documents from the gov't stating the new address was official). Everything regarding the separation of my parcel has been legally taken care of with the gov't. The original property address (that has u-verse) shows internet available at that address.
thanks for any responses

Next step would be an address validation. Call 800-288-2020. Ask for an address verification. In the past these took 3 weeks. My personal experience lately has been you don’t get contacted when they are done. So check on it after 3 weeks. There is an online form but I had trouble using it so I called.
I already had service but was looking for a speed upgrade. That may be why I wasn’t contacted.

I did submit for address verification by using the direct email because I also had issues with the online form and the person I spoke with on the phone could not understand that I was asking for address verification. After sending a basic "please let me have internet at this address, this is the neighbors address that has availability" to [email scrubbed], I heard back the next day; once I uploaded proof of occupancy, they would be able to schedule a work order. I hope this is the problem solved. Proof of occupancy sent according to their guidelines. I am hoping that this will result in a solution!
thanks for the recommendations!

I would check the availability site every week to see if your address is added to the system. Then you can order service online. To get gift cards. Be aware there have been scams lately stealing the gift card money. If you get service and gift cards, don’t talk to anyone calling from att about gift cards.

Internet installed yesterday! I was able to order it online after I sent the email for address verification and uploaded a copy of a current bill, as requested by AT&T. I had checked a few times to see if it was available at my address yet. It was available on Tuesday, I placed an order and they did the install Thursday. Unfortunately, it looks like I can't share the email address without it getting scrubbed here.
